Myocardial Perfusion Imaging

Myocardial Perfusion Imaging (MPI) is a procedure that evaluates blood circulation supply to heart muscle tissue. The MPI link enables you to record the MPI test details and create a test report. The MPI template consists of the following panels. The Intake staff documents the procedure information in the Procedure Information panel, which includes pre-procedure care, test/patient data, vital signs, and stress data. Findings Impression Note: The fields marked with asterisk * are required. Document the MPI Procedure You can document the MPI procedure on the MPI-Card template. Document Findings of MPI Tests You can document the findings of the MPI test in the Findings section. Impression of MPI Tests The provider reviews Procedure Information and Findings, modifies if necessary, and enters the impression of the MPI test performed on the patient. Echo

You can record the echocardiogram test details and create a test report. The Echocardiogram template consists of the following panels. The intake staff documents the Procedure Information which includes pre-procedure care, test/patient data, vital signs, and technical details. Findings Summary Note: The fields marked with asterisk * are required. Document Echocardiogram Procedures You can document the Echocardiogram procedure from the Echocardiogram template on the Echo navigational link. Echocardiogram Test Findings You can document the Echocardiogram test findings on the Echocardiogram template on the Echo navigational link. Document Summary of Echocardiogram Tests You can document a summary of the Echocardiogram test in the Summary panel. Signing off on Echocardiogram Test Findings You can sign off the Echocardiogram test when all the required fields have been entered in the Echocardiogram template. Submit Superbill

You can submit diagnoses and their corresponding procedures codes (CPT codes) to the superbill. Each procedure should have at least one diagnosis. You can submit up to four diagnoses for each procedure. When you add diagnoses and corresponding procedures, the application automatically saves them to superbill. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open an appropriate Cardiology template, for example, Intake-Cardiology, and select an appropriate Visit Type. Do one of the following: From the navigation bar, click Submit Superbill. From the navigational links, click the Submit Superbill link. If the Rendering Physician and Referring Provider details have not been not displayed automatically, select the appropriate details. Click the Description field to search for and add a diagnosis in the Procedure Diagnosis List section. Note: You can add up to four diagnoses for each procedure. Test or Patient Data Section for Navigational Links

There are multiple fields in the Test/Patient Data section for the cardiology navigational links. Field Description Test date Displays the current encounter date by default. Test type Displays Internal by default. Location Displays the encounter location by default. Reading This field is populated when the test is signed by the reading physician. Echo type Displays the echo type. Referring 1 Lists the referring providers. The Telephone icon displays the referring provider's telephone and fax information. This field retrieves the name of the provider if the echo test has been performed in a previous encounter. Referring 2 Used to select another referring provider if required. The Telephone icon displays the referring provider's telephone and fax information. Archive Used to enter an archive name to record the corresponding tape number. Document Holter Procedures

You can record the Holter Monitor test details. The Intake staff documents the procedure information which includes pre-procedure care, test/patient data, vital signs, stress data, recovery data, and wall motion. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Click the Intake tab. Select Cardiology as Specialty and Testing Only as Visit Type. Click the Holter link. Note: You can also access Holter Monitor template from the left Navigation bar. The Holter Monitor template opens. Holter Monitor-Procedure Information Click the Procedure Information panel. Click the Indication field and select an indication. Click the Hook Up Date field and select the date when the holter monitor has been hooked. Click the Disconnect Date field and select the date when the holter monitor has been disconnected. Click the Send Copy To field and select a physician to whom you want to send a copy of the test report. Click Ordering Dr and select the ordering physician. Click Diary and select an option. Document the MPI Procedure

You can document the MPI procedure on the MPI-Card template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Intake template. Select Specialty as Cardiology and Visit Type as Testing Only. Click the MPI link. Note: To access the MPI-Card template, you can also click MPI from the left Navigation bar. The MPI-Card template opens. MPI-Card - Procedure Information Select the appropriate options in the Pre-procedure care section. Enter the desired details in the Test/Patient Data section. Click Add. The Adult Vital Signs template opens. Enter the vital signs of the patient in the Adult Vital Signs template. Note: The vital signs automatically appear if they have been documented on the Home Page or Intake template. In the Stress Data section, do the following. To select an option from the list, click the Stress agent field. For the selected stress agent, select the desired options in the Dose, Units, Expiration Date, Route, Site, Time and Administered by fields. Enter the details for Resting isotope,
