Filtering Items in the Care Guidelines Panel

The Care Guidelines panel on the Care Guidelines Paged View template enables you to filter what is displayed. Display Specific Active Guideline Item for a Patient You can filter display items for a specific guideline that is active for a patient. Filter Displayed Guideline Item Using the Checkbox You can filter displayed guideline item that is active for a patient using the checkbox. Working with Orderable Guideline Items

You can order an guideline item for a patient using the Care Guidelines panel. Orderable guideline items have a checkbox used for placing orders. Encounter workflow for orderable items, includes: Reviewing the next due date Reviewing the last completed date Updating the status Placing orders for any tests/exams that are due Update Status or Compliance of an Orderable Item You can update the status of an orderable item using the Care Guidelines panel. Workflow for Care Guidelines Paged View

You can use the Care Guidelines Paged View template to perform tasks for every encounter with the patient. You can manage guideline items associated with chronic conditions or health maintenance workflow in the Care Guidelines panel on the Care Guidelines Paged View template. In the Care Guidelines panel, each item that is part of an active guideline whether it is due or not, appears in a paged format. You can view different pages of active guideline items in the navigation toolbar. Care Guidelines Paged View To use the care guidelines system with a patient, you first have to activate a guideline. Then you can perform the tasks of reviewing and updating the status of individual guideline items in the Care Guidelines panel. Sort Displayed Guideline Items

You can sort displayed guideline item in the Care Guidelines panel for a patient encounter. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template. The Care Guidelines Paged View template opens. Expand the Care Guidelines panel. Select the column heading you want to sort. Guideline items are sorted in ascending order when the column header displays an arrow pointing down. Care Guidelines Paged View Select again to change sort order from ascending to descending. Place an Order for an Orderable Guideline Item

You can place an order for an orderable guideline using the Care Guidelines panel. Orderable guideline items that are due, display the date in red font in the Next Due field. A yellow alert icon appears to the left of the date. The Status field appears as due. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template.The Care Guidelines Paged View template opens. Expand the Care Guidelines panel. Review orderable guideline items active for the patient. Items that are due or past due display the date in red font. Items that are due in the future display a date in black font. When you first activate a care guideline, items that are not due at a future date automatically display today’s date by default. To sort guideline items by next due date, you can select the active text Next Due column header. Select the checkbox to the left of the guideline items you want to order. Place Orders for Guideline Items

You can process the order placed for the care guidelines of the patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template. The Care Guidelines Paged View template opens. In the Care Guidelines panel, select the Grid View link. The Care Guidelines grid view template opens. Select a guideline item in the grid. Details for the guideline appears in the fields. You can order items with status due, such as labs and diagnostic studies. Select Order. The item's Status displays ordered. For records that previously display the status due, such as labs and diagnostics, the Action field displays the date ordered. Care Guidelines Note: Orders placed for labs and radiology diagnostic studies are processed and submitted to the Order module using the Process and Submit Lab/Radiology Orders template.
