Working with Recommended Care Guideline Items

You can select a goal for a patient using the recommended care guideline items. Recommended care guideline items do not have a checkbox for placing orders. They have a blue link that directs you to select a goal for the patient regarding the item. You can change this goal later. Encounter workflow for recommended care items, includes: Selecting or updating goals for the patient Update status and patient compliance Recommended care goals and statuses listed in DB picklist are configured on the Recommended Care practice template. Modifying Individual Guideline Items

You can modify the individual guideline item ordered for a patient. Orderable care guideline items can be modified at the patient level to change the time interval, start age, and stop age without impacting the standard care guideline for other patients. If you make any changes to the standard guideline item for a patient, an application message indicates that a change is made and what is the change of guidelines items in the Care Guidelines panel. Place an Order for a Lab or Radiology Guideline Item Using the Order Module

You can place an order for a lab or radiology guideline item on the Order module. You can order lab and radiology orderable guideline items that are due from the Order module when the Enable Order Module setting in the Orders/Plans section on the Practice Configuration practice template is selected. Home Page The information on how to configure the Care Guidelines Paged View template to enable the direct placement of orders for guideline items from the Order module is as below: Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Care Guidelines Paged View template, review orderable guideline items active for the patient. Items that are due or past due display the date in red font Items that are due in the future display a date in black font Select the checkbox to the left of the lab or radiology guideline item you want to order.The Order module opens the Lab or Rad order tab, corresponding to the type of orderable guideline item you selected. Place an Order for an Orderable Guideline Item

You can place an order for an orderable guideline using the Care Guidelines panel. Orderable guideline items that are due, display the date in red font in the Next Due field. A yellow alert icon appears to the left of the date. The Status field appears as due. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template.The Care Guidelines Paged View template opens. Expand the Care Guidelines panel. Review orderable guideline items active for the patient. Items that are due or past due display the date in red font. Items that are due in the future display a date in black font. When you first activate a care guideline, items that are not due at a future date automatically display today’s date by default. To sort guideline items by next due date, you can select the active text Next Due column header. Select the checkbox to the left of the guideline items you want to order. Check Orders for Orderable Guideline Items

You can check the orders for orderable guideline item of a patient. You can check the orders you have placed in the Recent Orders panel. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template. The Care Guidelines Paged View template opens. Expand the Recent Orders panel. Select the View All Orders link or the category link specific to the orders you want to see. Select the Pending button. Care Guidelines Paged View

You can record the activities for a disease, condition, and health maintenance during a patient encounter on the Care Guidelines Paged View template. The Care Guidelines panel on the Care Guidelines Paged View template has additional functionalities that are not available on the Care Guidelines grid view template. The activities performed during a patient encounter include: Activate a new care guideline Update a current active care guidelines Review, place orders, and update the status of guideline items Review and manage recent orders Review immunizations and track metrics Record immunization orders Review additional information that you may find helpful Decline or exclude a guideline permanently Decline or exclude a guideline for an encounter Reactivate or update a guideline that is declined or excluded in a previous encounter without having to reapply the entire guideline Modify individual active guideline items at the patient level.
