Sedation Panel on the ASC - Physician Procedure Template

The Sedation panel allows you to document details of the anesthesia to be given to the patient and specify whether or not the patient needs anesthesia.

Sedation

  1. If anesthesia is required for the patient, select the Sedation required checkbox.
  2. Select Anesthesia type and select the type of anesthesia to be given. The name of the current user appears in the corresponding Entered by field.
  3. Select Post op pain management and select an appropriate value from the list. The name of the current user appears in the corresponding Entered by field.
    If you select Other from the list, you can type the appropriate details in the Post op pain management field.
  4. Select ASA physical status classification and select the physical status based on American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status classification. The name of the current user appears in the corresponding Entered by field.
  5. Select Mallampati score and select the score from the list. The name of the current user appears in the corresponding Entered by field.
  6. Select Mallampati Grade and select the grade. The name of the current user appears in the corresponding Entered by field.
  7. Select Anesthesia comments and select an appropriate reason(s) for providing anesthesia. If you select Close in the list, you can enter the comments in the Anesthesia comments field.
    Sedation

    If the case ID of the encounters is the same, the anesthesia details entered in this panel carry forward to the next encounters.
