Procedure Orders Panel on the ASC - Pre admission Template

The Procedure Orders panel on the ASC - Pre admission template allows the nurse to document the procedure orders. The procedure orders are pre-configured on the Procedure Orders and Discharge Instructions practice template. For more information on procedure order configuration, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the Procedure Order & Discharge Instruction Practice Template User Guide for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. Procedure Orders If the current encounter includes only one procedure, the system displays the procedure in the Procedure field. If the current encounter includes more than one procedure, the system displays the first documented procedure in the Procedure field. If the case ID of the encounters is the same, then the procedure orders documented in the panel carry forward to the Procedure Orders panel on the other Ambulatory Surgery framework templates in the next encounters with the same case ID. Move Procedure Orders to Today's Procedure Orders

You can move procedure orders to the Today's Procedure Orders grid one at a time, or you can move all the procedures at simultaneously. The Today's Procedure Orders grid includes filter fields as described below: View my orders - Displays orders selected by the current user of the system. View all orders - Displays all orders documented for the patient. View only unsigned orders - Displays the orders which do not have a value of Signed in the Signed column of the grid. Add a Procedure Order During Procedure

The created procedure orders appear in the Today's Procedure Orders grid. Open the ASC - Physician Procedure template. In theProcedure Orderssection, from theProcedurelist, select the procedure for which you want to place the order. The list includes all the procedures entered in theProceduresection of theASC - Intaketemplate. Select type and category of the procedure order.All the preconfigured procedure orders matching the selected type and category appear in the grid. Procedure Orders To add a preconfigured procedure order, select it from the grid.To sign the procedure orders automatically on moving to the Today's Procedure grid, select the Sign Procedure Orders when added to Today's Orders checkbox. Note: When you select medication procedure orders, the drug interaction window containing all the interactions for the selected medication opens. Patient Discharge Instructions Panel on the ASC - Postprocedure Template

The Patient Discharge Instructions panel allows you to select the discharge instructions for the procedure. The discharge instructions are pre-configured for the procedures on the Procedure Orders and Discharge Instructions practice template. You can also add any new discharge instructions in this panel. Patient Discharge Instructions The Procedure field displays the procedure selected in the Procedure panel on the ASC - Intake template. If the current encounter includes only one procedure, then the Procedure field defaults to that procedure. If an encounter includes more than one procedure, then the first procedure documented in the encounter displays in the Procedure field. The Procedure field includes left and right arrows to go to the previous and the next procedure, respectively. If the current encounter includes only one procedure, the arrows will be unavailable to select. Initiate Documentation

The Initiate Documentation button on the Procedure Orders panel adds the documented procedure details to the Documentation Log panel on the ASC - Preprocedure and ASC - Intraprocedure templates of the Procedure visit type, if the case of the encounters is identical. Note: You must map the procedure orders to the entry type, category, and description in the Procedure Orders and Discharge Instructions practice template.
