and open a new encounter for a patient
Select
Specialty
as
Dermatology
and
Visit Type
as
Chart Update
.
On the
Intake
template, go to the
Orders
panel, and click
Add
.
The
Pathology Results
template opens.
In the
Orders
grid, select the appropriate record.
The application populates the template with data from the selected order.
Document the pathology report details.
To update the changes to the order on this template, click
Update Order
.
The application adds a record to the
Pathology Report Summary
grid.
In the
Follow Up
section, select the required options, and click
Add
.
The application adds a record to the
Telephone Contact
grid.
Based on your requirement, do the following:
To add an entry for this pathology in the
Skin Cancer Treatment Log
, click
Add to Skin Ca HX Log
.
Note:
The
Add to Skin Ca HX Log
is available only if you entered a new diagnosis for skin cancer.
To submit the order to the superbill, click
Submit to Superbill
.
To place the changed order, click
Place Order
.
To print a pathology report, click
Print Path Document
.
To print a benign pathology letter, click
Print Benign Letter
.

Record Pathology Results Notifications
On the Intake - Dermatology or GET template, click the Biopsy Log link. The Biopsy Log template opens. Select a pathology order from the Pathology Orders panel. In the Pathology Results section, select the Patient Notified check box. The current date is displayed in the On field. To change the date, click On, and use the calendar which opens to select a different date. To select the method used to contact the patient, click Method. To access the patient's chart, click Launch Patient Chart, Here you can also generate a benign pathology letter and save it to the patient encounter. To update the order to order management, click Update Order. To submit to super bill, click Submit to Superbill. View Pathology Results on the Biopsy Log Templates
On the Intake - Dermatology or GET template, click the Biopsy Log link. Note: You can also access the Biopsy Log template from the File > System \ Practice. The Biopsy Log template opens without any records. Click Specialty and select Dermatology from the resulting list.When you search, the application only displays search results of dermatology encounters. In the Pathology Order Search panel, enter your search criteria, and click Search.Records are available on the grid based on your search criteria. Note: The application only loads the first 100 records. If the record you are searching for does not appear among the records loaded, you must enter additional search criteria to narrow your search results. Select the record for the patient.The Pathology Orders section displays data for the selected record. Biopsy Log
The Biopsy Log link opens the Biopsy Log practice template which enables you to view pathology results for a patient. The log can be filtered by specialty, location, provider, patient, order status, and other factors. On the Biopsy Log practice template, you can do the following: Update the order Send tasks regarding the order or results to staff members. Submit the order to Superbill Generate and save a non-cancerous growth pathology letter within the encounter. Record how and when a patient was notified of the results. Biopsy Log View Pathology Results on the Biopsy Log Templates You can view the dermatology specific pathology results when you select Dermatology as the Specialty on the Biopsy Log template. View Derm Patient Path Records for Skin Cancer
Select the specialty Dermatology and perform a search for all pathology order records for a patient. Highlight a record in the Pathology Orders grid. The details of the selected record display in the Pathology Results panel of the Biopsy Log. Navigate to the Skin Cancer Log panel. The Skin Cancer Log grid displays skin cancer history pathology records for the patient, and can be filtered with the Skin cancer history options: To view only the records for untreated cancer, select Skin cancer history: Untreated option. Pathology Orders in the Biopsy Log
When the system adds pathology records to the Pathology Orders grid, you can: View individual results Make changes to the record Task the order to another staff member Submit the charge for pathology reading to the Superbill module (Available for Dermatology and ASC specialties) Once a pathology order record’s data is displayed in the Pathology Results section, you can make changes and additions to the record, including updating the diagnoses after specimens are read and diagnoses confirmed by the pathologist. Record Skin Cancer History
Open the Histories - Dermatology template. In the Skin Cancer Log panel, in the Treatment History section, click Add.The Skin Cancer History Log - Derm template opens. In the Treated? section, select the N option. Type the year the cancer was diagnosed in the Year of DX field. To select the characteristics of cancer as reported on the pathology report, click Characteristics. In the Accession field , type the accession number from the pathology report. Select the correct specimen id from the Specimen ID list. Note: This is essential if the report includes multiple specimens. To open the Diagnosis template, click Diagnosis, and then locate and select the diagnosis as reported on the pathology report. Select the location where the patient is identified with cancer in the Location field. Select the treatment needed for this patient in the Recommended treatment field. Note: Information about the actual treatment needs to be reported after you have completed the procedure. When you complete
