Allergies

You can manage patient allergy details of a patient. You can add and review the allergy details of a patient in the Allergies panel. The Allergies panel allows you to add and review the allergy information associated with a patient. If there are no known allergies for a patient, you can select No known allergies. Allergies Panel You can only add the allergy and its reaction in the Allergies panel. The severity level must be added from the Medication Allergies module. For an allergy record, you can select multiple reactions and their respective severity levels from the Medication Allergies module. You can view the intolerance details for the added allergies in the Allergies panel if the Intolerance checkbox is selected on the Medication Allergies module. The Intolerance checkbox indicates that the patient cannot tolerate the side effects of the medication. Access Dermatology

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select a patient or create a patient encounter. To open the Templates module on a patient encounter, do one of the following: On the Categories or Encounter History tab, select Open Template. On Top Toolbar, select Templates. On the main menu, select File > New > Template. The Select Template window opens. Select Home Page - Dermatology, and then click OK.The Home Page Dermatology template opens. To review the page, select the Visit Type. From the navigation bar at the top of the Home Page - Dermatology template, you can access the Dermatology framework templates like Intake, Histories, GET, SOAP, Finalize, and Checkout. Open the Home Page Template

You can obtain the patient summary on the Home Page template. To open the Templates module on a patient encounter, do one of the following: On the Categories or Encounter History tab, select Open Template. On Top Toolbar, select Templates. On the main menu, select File > New > Template. The Select Template window opens. On the Medical Records tab, select All. Select Home Page, and then select OKThe Home Page template opens. Document New Allergies for a Patient

You can document allergy details of a patient. Before you begin If the Joint Commission standards are turned on, the Practice Configuration template, document allergy information after entering whether the patient is new or established along with the Visit Type and Historian. After documenting allergies, continue entering other details. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Intake template, in the Allergies panel, select Add.The age-specific allergies template opens. Select the applicable checkboxes, and then select the associated reaction from the corresponding list. If the patient's allergy information is not available on the template, select Manage Allergies and document the allergy details. If you want to document the allergy severity and additional details, select Manage Allergies.A message appears indicating to confirm if you want to add the selected allergy to the Medication Allergies module. Enter New Allergies for a Patient

You can document allergy information for a patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the Allergies panel on the Intake template, if the patient reports a new allergy since the last visit, click Add.The Adult Allergies template opens. Adult Allergies Select the applicable checkboxes and then select the associated reaction from the corresponding list. Click Save & Close. (Optional) Click the Allergies added today option. If the patient's allergy is not available in the Adult Allergies template, click Update in the Allergies panel to open the Allergies module and document the patient's allergies. In the Allergies panel, the Comment link opens the Allergy Comments template to add any additional information on the documented allergies. You must not enter patient allergies manually in the Allergy Comments template. Enter all allergies in the Allergies module. Note: If the patient's allergy is not available on the Allergy Reactions template, you can close the Allergy Reactions template. You can select Save & Close to return to the Allergies panel. With the allergen selected, to open the Allergies module and document the patient's allergies, you can select Update. Select Save & Close. To enter comments about the allergen, select the Comment link and enter the details on the Allergy Comments window. CAUTION: You must not enter patient allergies manually on the Allergy Comments window. You must enter all allergies on the Allergies module.
