Medications

You can document and manage the medication history and current medications of a patient. You can use the Medications panel to view the patient's current medications and medication history, enter additional prescriptions for the patient, and reconcile the medications listed with the actual active medications for the patient. You can use the No medications this encounter checkbox if there are no active medications for the patient. Medications Panel You can reconcile the medications for the patient using the Medications reconciled checkbox, and indicate that you have received the summary of care for the patient using the Summary of care received checkbox. Document New Allergies for a Patient

You can document allergy details of a patient. Before you begin If the Joint Commission standards are turned on, the Practice Configuration template, document allergy information after entering whether the patient is new or established along with the Visit Type and Historian. After documenting allergies, continue entering other details. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Intake template, in the Allergies panel, select Add.The age-specific allergies template opens. Select the applicable checkboxes, and then select the associated reaction from the corresponding list. If the patient's allergy information is not available on the template, select Manage Allergies and document the allergy details. If you want to document the allergy severity and additional details, select Manage Allergies.A message appears indicating to confirm if you want to add the selected allergy to the Medication Allergies module. Adding and Reviewing Allergies

You can add and review the allergy details associated with a patient in the Allergies panel. You can add an allergy and its reaction on the Allergies panel. You must add the severity level on the Medication Allergies module which then displays the severity level in the Reaction (Severity) column in the Allergies panel. On the Medication Allergies module, you can select multiple reactions and the respective severities for each allergy. Allergies You can select the No known allergies checkbox to indicate that the patient does not have any known medication allergies. You can select the Reviewed, Updated checkbox to indicate that the allergy details are reviewed and updated during the encounter You can select the Reviewed, no change checkbox to indicate that the patient does not have new details to add. Allergies

The Allergies panel enables you to add and review the allergy information associated with a patient. You can only add the allergy and its reaction on the Allergies panel; the severity level needs to be added from the Medication Allergies module. However, when the severity level is added in the Medication Allergies module and updated, the severity level in the allergies panel grid is displayed under the Reaction (Severity) column. From the module, for the same allergy, you could select multiple reactions and their respective severities. Document Allergies for a Pediatric Patient

If the patient reports a new allergy since the last visit, you can document it in Allergies panel. Before you begin If the Joint Commission standards are enabled on the Practice Configuration template, document the allergy details after entering whether the patient is new or established along with the Visit Type and Historian. Add Allergies

You can add and review the allergies that a patient may have towards certain medications. You must add the severity of the allergy in the Medication Allergies module. The severity reflects in the allergies grid under the Reaction (Severity) column. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Intake - Cardiology template. Select the Allergies panel. On the Allergies template, do one of the following. If there are no known allergies for a patient, select No known allergies. If applicable, click the Comment link to open the Allergy Comments window. If there are allergies listed in the grid for the patient and if there is no new information to add, click Reviewed, no change. Note: If Joint Commission standards have been enabled in the Practice Configuration practice template, allergy information always has to be documented after entering whether the patient is new or established, along with the Visit type, Historian, and Reason for Visit.
