Document Allergies for a Pediatric Patient

If the patient reports a new allergy since the last visit, you can document it in Allergies panel. Before you begin If the Joint Commission standards are enabled on the Practice Configuration template, document the allergy details after entering whether the patient is new or established along with the Visit Type and Historian. After documenting allergies, continue entering other details. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Intake template. In the Allergies panel, click Add. The Peds Allergies template opens. Select the applicable checkboxes, and then select the associated reaction from the corresponding list. To add allergy, do one of the following: To document the allergy severity and additional details, click Manage Allergies. A message appears indicating to confirm if you want to add the selected allergy to the Medication Allergies module. Click Yes. Allergies

You can manage patient allergy details of a patient. You can add and review the allergy details of a patient in the Allergies panel. The Allergies panel allows you to add and review the allergy information associated with a patient. If there are no known allergies for a patient, you can select No known allergies. Allergies Panel You can only add the allergy and its reaction in the Allergies panel. The severity level must be added from the Medication Allergies module. For an allergy record, you can select multiple reactions and their respective severity levels from the Medication Allergies module. You can view the intolerance details for the added allergies in the Allergies panel if the Intolerance checkbox is selected on the Medication Allergies module. The Intolerance checkbox indicates that the patient cannot tolerate the side effects of the medication. Medications

You can document and manage the medication history and current medications of a patient. You can use the Medications panel to view the patient's current medications and medication history, enter additional prescriptions for the patient, and reconcile the medications listed with the actual active medications for the patient. You can use the No medications this encounter checkbox if there are no active medications for the patient. Medications Panel You can reconcile the medications for the patient using the Medications reconciled checkbox, and indicate that you have received the summary of care for the patient using the Summary of care received checkbox. Document Patient Allergies

You can document the allergy details of a patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Intake template, in the Allergies panel, select Add.The Adult Allergies template opens. Adult Allergies template Select the applicable allergen checkboxes, and then select the associated reaction from the resulting list. Note: If the patient's allergy is not available on the Allergy Reactions template, you can close the Allergy Reactions template. You can select Save & Close to return to the Allergies panel. With the allergen selected, to open the Allergies module and document the patient's allergies, you can select Update. Select Save & Close. To enter comments about the allergen, select the Comment link and enter the details on the Allergy Comments window. CAUTION: You must not enter patient allergies manually on the Allergy Comments window. You must enter all allergies on the Allergies module. You can document allergy information for a patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Adding and Reviewing Allergies

You can add and review the allergy details associated with a patient in the Allergies panel. You can add an allergy and its reaction on the Allergies panel. You must add the severity level on the Medication Allergies module which then displays the severity level in the Reaction (Severity) column in the Allergies panel. On the Medication Allergies module, you can select multiple reactions and the respective severities for each allergy. Allergies You can select the No known allergies checkbox to indicate that the patient does not have any known medication allergies. You can select the Reviewed, Updated checkbox to indicate that the allergy details are reviewed and updated during the encounter You can select the Reviewed, no change checkbox to indicate that the patient does not have new details to add.
