Initial Prenatal Visits

With the Initial Prenatal Visit type, you can document the prenatal visit in the navigation tabs. The navigation tabs display based on which Obstetrics visit type. You can only change or select visit types from the Home or the Intake template. Document the Obstetrics and Gynecology Synopsis Template The Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN) Synopsis template provides the details of female patients. Document the Pap and HPV Details Template The Pap and HPV Details template allows you to view the lab order details and document the Pap screenings. Document the Pregnancy Outcomes Template You can document information in the Pregnancy Outcomes template. Documenting Pregnancy Outcomes You can document pregnancy outcomes in the OBGYN Synopsis and Pregnancy Outcomes templates. Documenting Obstetrics Postpartum Visits

You can enter postpartum details in the OB Postpartum template. The OB Postpartum template is used during a postpartum visit. To document a postpartum visit, you must select Obstetrics as the specialty and OB - Postpartum or Document Pregnancy Outcome as the visit type. Note: The OB Postpartum visit type can only be used after every pregnancy. If a patient is seen for a wound check after delivery, you must select the Post-Operative Visit. If a patient has just delivered and the practice want to document the details of the delivery immediately, you can select the Document Pregnancy Outcome visit type. The OB Postpartum template includes the addition of the Postpartum Details and Pregnancy Outcome panels. Compiling this data into a single template improves the workflow. Prenatal Record Document (Obstetrics Crystal Report)

You can generate a prenatal record document also known as an OB Crystal report. You can use the OB Crystal Report to generate a report of the information entered in the Gestational Age, Histories, Prenatal Detail, and Education templates. Documenting Obstetrics Visits

You can document prenatal and postpartum obstetrics visits. You can use the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine templates to document encounters on the OB Prenatal - Initial and OB Postpartum visit encounters. Basic Configurations You can set up certain basic configurations for a Obstetrics specialty. Set Up Disclosure Statements for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration The configuration in the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) section applies across practices that provide substance use disorder treatment. Open the Template Data Sets Setup Template The Health Promotion Plan template is packaged with BMI Plan, Depression Plan, and Hypertension Plan. You can also create a customized health promotion plans. Obstetrics Intake Staff Workflow

You can document the intake information in the Intake template. The intake staff workflow for an Initial Prenatal visit involves documenting the patient encounter on the Intake, Gestational Age, Histories, and Education templates. The information documented by the intake staff is reviewed by the provider. When you open the Intake template, select Obstetrics and OB Prenatal Initial from the Specialty and Visit Type fields to display the Initial Prenatal template set. The Intake template includes various links to add more information about the patient. Review of Obstetrics Details by Intake Staff The intake staff can review the patient's details documented during the previous encounters. Viewing Links on the Intake Template The links on the Intake template allows you to open the templates where you can document the patient details. Generate the Obstetrics Master Document

You can generate the OB Master document to view data entered in the Obstetrics templates. Select Obstetrics as the specialty and visit type as Prenatal Initial for an initial visit. Note: If the visit is a non-pregnancy-related visit, then select Office Visit - OB. Select the Preview button on the navigation bar or select the Master Document from the document button on the SOAP tab. Note: You can select the Offline button on the navigation bar if offline document generation is set up.
