Initial Prenatal Visits

With the Initial Prenatal Visit type, you can document the prenatal visit in the navigation tabs. The navigation tabs display based on which Obstetrics visit type. You can only change or select visit types from the Home or the Intake template. Obstetrics Intake Staff Workflow

You can document the intake information in the Intake template. The intake staff workflow for an Initial Prenatal visit involves documenting the patient encounter on the Intake, Gestational Age, Histories, and Education templates. The information documented by the intake staff is reviewed by the provider. When you open the Intake template, select Obstetrics and OB Prenatal Initial from the Specialty and Visit Type fields to display the Initial Prenatal template set. The Intake template includes various links to add more information about the patient. Review of Obstetrics Details by Intake Staff The intake staff can review the patient's details documented during the previous encounters. Viewing Links on the Intake Template The links on the Intake template allows you to open the templates where you can document the patient details. Obstetrics Provider Workflow

You can document the provider information in the Prenatal Detail and SOAP template. The provider workflow for an Initial Prenatal visit involves reviewing the information documented by the intake staff and proceeding with the patient encounter by documenting information on the Prenatal Detail and SOAP templates. On the first visit, open the Gestational Age template must be opened and verify the due date. Reviewing Obstetrics Details by Providers A provider can start the visit by reviewing the patient information documented during the previous patient encounters on the Home Page template for the Obstetrics specialty. Obstetrics Home Page Template You can review the historical information of the patient on the Home Page - Obstetrics template. Patient Tracking in the Provider Workflow You can update the patient tracking details using the Patient Tracking on the Patient Information Card (PIC). Document the Obstetrics Postpartum Visit

You can document the OB Postpartum Visit template by using the Postpartum tab. You can document a routine OB postpartum visit using the OB Postpartum Visit template. You can document the routine OB postpartum visit without navigating to other templates, using the OB Postpartum Visit template . You can easily open any additional templates directly from the OB Postpartum Visit template. Wherever possible, the OB Postpartum Visit template fields maps to their corresponding fields in the other templates. Document Intake Workflow

You can document the Intake workflow in the General, Reason for Visit, Vital Signs, Medications, Allergies, Orders, and Review of Systems. The Intake staff enters information on the Intake template. The Pregnancy Outcome sub-navigation link displays on the Home Page, Intake, and Postpartum templates. Intake template Select postpartum check as the reason for visit. Enter vital signs in the Vital Signs panel. Review medications in the Medications panel. Review allergies in the Allergies panel. Select General ROS - Female in the Review of Systems panel. The ROS - Female template opens. If the provider has saved a list of questions to ask, select L. If a provider’s pre-set list of questions is used, ask each question and change the answer from negative to positive as appropriate.
