Overview of Obstetrics Diagnostics

You can document obstetrics conditions and obstetrics diagnostic details in the Diagnostics Studies panel. You can do the following through the Diagnostics Studies panel: View the Currently Pregnant status, Initial/Working EDD (estimated due date), and EGA (estimated gestational age). Open the Medication and Immunization templates. Add diagnoses and OB problems to Today's assessment. Record historical orders for gynecologic and obstetrics diagnostic tests. Record the type of examination, Transabdominal or Transvaginal. Select verbal order or needs sign-off and send task automatically. Select obstetrical specialty diagnostic tests and place orders. Record EGA at the time of sonogram, select interpretation, add clinical interpretations, and estimated fetal growth. Add multiple gestation details and result details. Review Fetal Chromosomal Testing

You can review lab results for the available obstetric lab order in the Fetal Chromosomal Testing panel. You can place orders for the tests in the Fetal Chromosomal Testing panel during any time of pregnancy. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open a female adult patient record, and then create an encounter. On the Intake template, and then select the specialty as Obstetrics and visit type as OB Prenatal. On the Prenatal Detail template, expand the Fetal Chromosomal Testing panel.The associated lab orders appear in the grid. Double-click the test name to place the order through Historical Test - Quick Entry template. To review a single lab order result, do the following: Select the row where the lab order result is available. The Edit Test Interval window opens. Select the Reviewed check box, and then select Save & Close. The reviewed check mark appears. To review all lab orders with results, select the Reviewed check box. Add a Historical Obstetric Problem to the Current Pregnancy

You can view all the previous pregnancy problems of a patient and review the list and move a pertinent problem to the patient’s current pregnancy chart. The problem is added to the current encounter and not the associated notes. The Previous Pregnancy Problems link displays all the previous pregnancy problems of a patient. You can review the problems list and move a pertinent problem to the patient’s current pregnancy chart. The problem is added to the current encounter and not the associated notes. By default, the historical problem is set as active problem. On the Prenatal Detail tab, expand the OB Problems panel and select the Previous Pregnancy Problems link.The Previous Pregnancy Problems template opens. Add Diagnosis from Today’s Assessment to Obstetric Problems List

You can move an obstetric problem diagnosis from today’s assessment to the patient’s current obstetric problems list. The Today’s Assessment grid displays all diagnoses from a patient's current encounter. You can select a relevant obstetric (OB) problem diagnosis from today’s assessment and move it to the patient’s current OB problems list. On the Prenatal Detail template, expand the OB Problems panel and select Add/Update.The OB Problem Add template opens. In the Today’s Assessment section, select the diagnosis that you want to add to the OB problems list. Select Send to OB Problems. Select the assessment status and priority. To add an OB problem to the Problems module, select Add to Problems Module, and then the relevant SNOMED code on the resulting window. To add notes, select 'Date Stamp' Note and then enter your notes. Note: The date stamp inserts the current date and the username. Select Add/Update. Open Lab and Diagnostic Review

You must add an obstetric(OB) poblem to be able to view the Lab and Diagnostic Review link. On the Prenatal Detail template, expand the OB Problems panel and then select Add/Update. The OB Problem Add template opens. Select an obstetric problem or add an obstetric problem. The Lab and Diagnostic Review link is available. Select Lab and Diagnostic Review. The Lab and Diagnostic Review template opens. View Lab and Diagnostic Orders You can view the diagnostics, lab orders, and office services of a patient. Add Obstetric Problem Notes You can add obstetric problem notes for a patient in the Lab and Diagnostic Review template. Add Obstetric Problems

You can add a patient's obstetric problems to the Problems module and also move a problem to today’s assessment. On the OB Problem Add template, you can add or update a patient’s obstetric (OB) problems, submit a problem to the Problems module, and move a problem to today’s assessment. The Associate Meds link allows you to view the active medications and associated diagnoses and update the diagnoses for an active medication.
