Configuration of Tabs and Links

You can configure the tabs and links in the sub-navigation and tabs sections. You can find the framework content links in the navigation tabs on the Framework template set. These are convenient, customizable links that you can configure to open frequently used templates. The defaults for the framework template links vary depending on the specialty, visit type, and tab. You can use the Tabs section of the Framework Content system template to add, delete or modify the tabs for a specialty and any of its visit types. You can add several visit types for a particular specialty and configure the tabs for each specialty-visit type combination. Framework Content System Template

The Framework Content system template is used to configure the reason for visit types that are specific to your practice and add the customized reasons to the top 14 links that appear in the left pane of the Reason for Visit panel. Reason for Visit Note: The top 14 reasons for visit are listed on the left. All of the reasons documented for the open encounter are listed on the right. Configuration of Custom Visit Type

You can configure a custom visit type using the Visit Type Configuration window. Additionally, you can map the configured visit type with a specialty and required templates to display at runtime using the Framework Content system template. You can configure a new visit type required by a practice, and manage these custom visit types using the Visit Type Configuration window. To add a new visit type, you must map an existing visit type and the associated Evaluation and Management billing code with the new visit type. Based on your practice preference, you can map a specialty and the required templates to display on runtime with the configured visit type using the Framework Content system template. The selected specialty and the runtime visit type details are displayed on the created documents. Template Links

You can use links to open frequently used templates. Based on the configuration in the Framework Content system template, links appear in the Intake, Histories, SOAP, Finalize, and Checkout tabs. The appearance of these links can vary based on the specialty, visit type, template, tab, and age of the patient. The links can be configured based on the following: Specialty Practice Provider Specialty and practice Specialty and provider These links are associated with a particular tab. You can configure a specific link on various tabs. Sub Navigation Set Up Links You can use the Framework Content system template to configure the links. Framework Content Template

The Framework Content system template allows you to customize various elements of navigation and configure the content for certain panels at the specialty, practice, and provider levels. Though NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine contains default configurations on the Framework Content system template, you can set up configurations at the practice and provider levels. Since the application is delivered with the default setup for each specialty, it is acceptable to select only a specialty on the system template. Note: NextGen Healthcare recommends that you apply the configurations at the specialty level. You must avoid or limit the use of provider-based configurations, because it is difficult to maintain a large number of setups. This is particularly important for users with a large number of providers.
