Filter	Description
all	Includes all of the reasons for visit for the specialty currently selected in the Framework Content system template. The Submenus section opens when you select all.
top	Includes only the selected reasons for visit for a specialty (up to 14). An item must exist on the all list before you can add it to the top list.
filter by gender	Filters complaints by all (A), female (F), male (M), undifferentiated (O), and unknown (U).

Add Reasons for Visit

You can configure the complaints that appear in the Reason for Visit panel by adding them to the top list on the Framework Content system template. Before including a reason for visit in the top list, ensure that it exists in the all list. Note: You can include up to 14 reasons for visit in the top list. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Framework Content system template. Select the Reason for Visit panel. Set the Filter to top. To select a reason for visit, select the field on the Reason for Visit column of the grid, and select OK.The list includes the reasons for visit from the all list, specific to the selected specialty. Select Add.The reason appears in the Reason for Visit grid and in the Reason for Visit panel on the Framework Content system template. Add Chief Complaints to the Reason for Visit List

You can set up a chief complaint to be accessible in the Reason for Visit list. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Framework Content system template. Select the Reason for Visit panel. Set the Filter to all. Select a gender from the filter by gender list. To select a reason for visit from the list, select the field on the Reason for Visit column of the grid. Note: If the required reason for visit is not listed, you can open the Manage Custom Links practice template to add the reason for visit. Select OK and then select Add. Manage the Reason for Visit Submenu

You can update or delete the items in the Reason for Visit sub-menu. You must enter a sub-menu value before or after the Reason for Visit. In runtime, sub-menus allows you to make another selection to further refine your initial selection. A second selection, in some cases, even a third selection appears. This allows the practice to have a shorter list of reasons for visit. For example, instead of having two reasons that include initial or follow-up, you can add sub-menus initial and follow-up to a reason for visit to indicate whether the visit is initial or follow-up. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Framework Content system template. Select the Reason for Visit panel. Select the Filter to all. Highlight a complaint in the grid. In the Submenus section, select before and type items in the fields (for example, left, right, and bilateral). Change the Order of Reasons for Visit List

You can change the order of reason for visit list using the Change Order option. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Framework Content system template. Select the Reason for Visit panel. Select the Change Order checkbox. Select a row in the grid to be moved and select the desired row to set the new position. You can follow the same procedure to change the order of the listed items in the other panels of this template. Framework Content System Template

The Framework Content system template is used to configure the reason for visit types that are specific to your practice and add the customized reasons to the top 14 links that appear in the left pane of the Reason for Visit panel. Reason for Visit Note: The top 14 reasons for visit are listed on the left. All of the reasons documented for the open encounter are listed on the right. Only Reason for Visit values that are configured to a specific specialty can be added to the top 14 reasons for visit.
