Patient's Lab Orders

You can place lab orders from the Labs tab using the Lab Master template or the Orders console. The Process and Submit Lab/Radiology Orders template shares information with the Lab Master template and the Orders console. You can place a lab order from the Lab Master template on the Labs tab for the following types of tests: chemistry, CSF labs, office labs, tumor markers, microbiology, hematology, OB labs, other tests, urine chemistries, therapeutic levels, serology, and pre-Cath labs. Instead of using the Lab Master template, you can configure the Labs tab to open to the Orders console for processing labs. The Process and Submit Lab/Radiology Orders template shares all orders that are mapped in the Order Tests Master File in File Maintenance with the Orders module, including the order details and any mapped LOINC® or SNOMED® codes. Set Up Labs to Process in the Orders Module

You can configure order entry through the Orders module from the Labs tab. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Practice Configuration template. In the Orders/Plans section, on the Order Module line, select the Enable Order Module checkbox.In runtime, the Labs tab opens the Orders module instead of the Lab Master template. Documenting Assessment Details

You can add or update a patient's assessment details in the Assessments tab. You can update the ICD-10 coding and 5010 standards using the patient's assessment. You can select the assessment details in the grid and submit the first 12 diagnoses for claim processing. You can add or update an assessment in the following sections: Billing Diagnosis History Clinical Problems My Favourites The Today’s Assessments grid on the Assessments tab contains the following details: First column displays the priority, considering that you can submit only the first 12 row items for claims. Second column displays the diagnosis description, diagnosis code, and if entered, the status, side, and site details. Third column displays the differential diagnoses. Note: If an HCC column appears in the grid, the practice administrator must turn on the Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC) coding functionality in the Problems module. Place a Lab Order with Bypass Orders Module Processing On

Click the Labs tab. The Lab Master template opens. Document An Assessment. If a preferred vendor does not appear or you want to change the vendor, select a vendor. To change the billing type, click the Billing Type field and select an option. The Billing Type field has been filled based on the selected vendor. The default billing type is Third Party; however, if the patient's insurance is not attached to the encounter, the default is Patient. To specify when to perform the test, select the timeframe or date. Select the order priority and the need to fast or call results. Click one of the following template links: Chemistry Microbiology Other Tests Tumor Markers Office Labs Serology Urine Chemistries Hematology OB Labs Therapeutic Levels The template for the selected lab type opens. Managing Today's Orders

You can process lab or radiology orders documented by the provider on the My Plan template. You can add and edit an order in the Today's Orders panel. To place any follow-up order, you can use the Follow Up button. Several types of orders are available in the Today's Orders panel. The numbers next to the order types indicate the number of items in the queue for that type of order. In the beginning, you must select the order type, and then you need to select Add or Edit to open the respective order template to add or update the details.
