Education Template

You can document the prenatal education information in the Education template. The Education template allows you to document the prenatal education information discussed with the patient. Note: This information cannot be entered prior to an initial prenatal visit. Before using the Education template, confirm that the patient has an EDD and the Estimated Gestational Age determined and documented in the system. In addition, the practice must configure the required education values or select the default values for each trimester in the OB Education Customization practice template. Document General UDS Reporting

You can document information in the General (UDS Reporting) panel. The General (UDS Reporting) panel allows you to collect the first prenatal and multiple gestation information. Open the Gestational Age-Obstetrics template. Expand the General (UDS Reporting) panel, if you are required, or if you require, to collect this information. Select the First, Second, or Third option from the First prenatal visit trimester section.This indicates which trimester the patient initially presented for prenatal care, even if the patient did not present to your practice first. Select the first prenatal visit date from the First prenatal visit field. Select the Here option or Elsewhere option to specify where the first prenatal visit was performed. Select an option in the Multiple gestation section to indicate whether this pregnancy is a singleton pregnancy or not. Documenting Obstetrics Gestational Orders

You can document information in the OB Gestational Orders template. You can open the OB Gestational Orders template from thePrenatal Detail > Order Labs > OBGYN Lab Master > Labs > Orders by Gestational Week. The lab results fills the Order Management template, Lab Results - Obstetrics template, the Order module, and the master document. Before using the OB Gestational Orders template, you have to select the OB Prenatal- Initial visit type and enter the applicable information in the Gestational Age tab. Document Information in the Prenatal Visits Panel

You can document information in the Prenatal Visits panel for the current pregnancy. The Prenatal Visits panel contains a grid with data entered from all previous prenatal visits for the current pregnancy. The comments can be viewed in two ways. Open the Prenatal Visits panel. Select the row with an asterisk in the comments column, and view the full text of the comment in the Progress note field below the grid. Select the Progress Note Summary button.The Pregnancy Note Summary template opens. Select the OB Initial Exam link.The OB Initial Physical Exam window opens. Select the Default normal checkbox.All physical exam items up to the Adnexa item are marked as normal except for the Uterus size item. Any item that is not normal can be manually changed. Uterine size must be manually entered. Other exam items can be entered as needed. Calculate the EDD Using Sonogram Results

You can calculate the EDD using Sonogram results in the Estimated Date of Delivery panel. Select the Gestational Age tab.The Gestational Age- Obstetrics template opens. Expand the Estimated Date of Delivery panel. Select the first ultrasound date from the Ultrasound 1 field and enter the days and weeks in the Ultrasound template. To select the ultrasound-determined EDD, select the Ultrasound 1 Adjusted option.The EDD based on ultrasound result appears. Select the EDD Comments text box to enter any comments.This ultrasound-determined EDD replaces the previously entered EDD in the Initial/Working EDD field. It is not necessary to enter the dates of a second sonogram, initial exam, conception date or IVF date unless it is clinically indicated dating a pregnancy for a particular patient. Review Ultrasound Orders

You can review lab results for the available obstetric lab orders in the Ultrasound Orders panel. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open a female adult patient record, and then create an encounter. On the Intake template, and then select the specialty as Obstetrics and visit type as OB Prenatal. On the Prenatal Detail template, expand the Ultrasound Orders panel.The orders placed through the Diagnostic Studies panel appear in the grid. Ultrasound Orders To review a single lab order result, do the following: Select the row where the lab order result is available. The Edit Test Interval window opens. Select the Reviewed check box, and then select Save & Close. The reviewed check mark appears. To review all lab orders with results, select the Reviewed check box. The reviewed check mark appears for all orders with results. To update the order obtained interval date range, select the row and update the details on the Edit Test Interval window.
