You can document patient encounters for a family practice visit. You can document the Family Practice office and virtual visits on the following templates: Intake Histories SOAP Finalize Checkout Using the Intake and Histories templates, a nurse or medical assistant can document the reasons for visit, medications, allergies, social histories, and so on. Provider uses the SOAP and Finalize templates to document assessment and physical exam details, generate evaluation and management codes, and so on. The front desk employees use the Checkout template to view order details and provide necessary documents to the patient. Before you document a standard visit, you can configure optional settings to quickly open templates and features. You can use NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine templates to document patient encounters on the visit types associated with the specialties available. The standard office and virtual visit workflow are documented on the following templates: Intake Histories SOAP Finalize Checkout Note: The workflow may vary with some specialties such as ophthalmology, cardiology, and obstetrics. Overview of the Checkout Staff Workflow

You can review and generate documents of a patient's checkout process. After completing the intake staff and provider workflow, the front office staff initiates and completes the patient checkout process on the Checkout template to do the following: Review and/or process all orders. Generate lab and/or radiology requisitions, if needed. Generate referral documents, if needed. Schedule future appointments as ordered. Generate the Patient Plan and Checkout documents, if needed. Viewing Template Links on the Checkout Template You can customize the links to meet your needs on the Checkout template. Open the Follow-up or Disposition Template You can document the follow-up details for a patient using the Follow-up/Disposition template.
