Document Diagnostic Study Results

You can document the diagnostics study results on the Diagnostic History Entry template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. To open the Diagnostic History Entry template, do one of the following. On the Histories template, expand the Diagnostic Studies panel, and select Add. In the History Summary panel on the Intake template, select Diagnostic, and select Add/Edit. Select a diagnostic study from the grid. In the Study Result section, select Interpretation and select a status. In Result, enter a brief synopsis or interpretation of the result. In Comments, enter your comments or use the My Phrases link. Select Add to HPI Grid. The selected diagnostic study is added to the Reason for Visit panel as Studies Reviewed. Note: The Add to HPI Grid button is enabled only if the selected study is created in the current encounter and has a documented Result or Interpretation. Select OK. Document Historical Diagnostic Studies

You can enter historical diagnostic study information on the Diagnostic History Entry template on the Histories template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Histories template. Select the Diagnostic Studies panel. Select Add. The Diagnostic History Entry template opens. Diagnostic History Entry template Select Diagnostic study type and select OK. Select Diagnostic study and select OK. The Procedure code field is filled automatically. If the diagnostic study is performed outside your practice, select Ordered elsewhere. Select Side and Site from the corresponding lists. Select Date performed to enter the date. Note: If the exact date is unknown, you can select Approximated performed date. NextGen® Enterprise EHR displays the performed or completed date, whichever is available. When both the dates are available, NextGen® Enterprise EHR displays only the completed date. Manage Historical Diagnostic Study

When you modify a historical diagnostics study on the Diagnostic History Entry template, the application automatically updates the corresponding studies reviewed record in the Reason for Visit panel. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. To open the Diagnostic History Entry template, in the History Summary panel, select Diagnostic, and select Add/Edit. To update the historical diagnostic study, do the following: On the Diagnostic History Entry template, select a historical diagnostic study that need to be updated from the grid. Update the Interpretation and / or Result as needed. Select Update. The record is updated. If the record is previously added to the Reason for Visit panel, the corresponding record in also updated in the Reason for Visit panel. Close the template. To delete a historical diagnostic study, do the following: On the Diagnostic History Entry template, select a historical diagnostic study that need to be deleted from the grid. Select Delete. Add a Historical Diagnostic Study to Reason for Visit

You can add historical diagnostic studies to the history of present illness in Reason for Visit of the Diagnostic History Entry template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Diagnostic History Entry template, select a diagnostic study that is entered in the current encounter with a documented Result or Interpretation.The Add to HPI Grid button is turned on. Note: The Add to HPI Grid button is turned on if the selected study is created in the current encounter and has a documented Result or Interpretation. Update a Historical Diagnostic Study

When you update a historical diagnostics study on the Diagnostic Study - Orders template, the system automatically updates the corresponding studies reviewed record in the Reason for Visit panel. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Histories template. In the Diagnostic Studies panel, to update a diagnostic study, select and double-click a diagnostic study from the grid.The Diagnostic Study - Orders template opens. Update the Interpretation and Result as needed. Select Save.The record is updated. If the record is previously added to the Reason for Visit panel, the corresponding record is also updated in the Reason for Visit panel. Select Close.
