Add a Sub-Category to a Category

In the Sub Navigation Item 2 panel, you can configure sub-categories for a category associated with an entry type. The categories are configured in the Navigational Item2 panel on the Documentation Log Config practice template. On the Documentation Log Config practice template, expand the Sub Navigation Item 2 panel. Click Entry Type and select an entry type from a list of entry types configured in the Navigation panel. Click Navigation Item 2 and select a category from a list of categories configured in the Navigation Item 2 panel. In Sub navigation item 2, enter a sub-category for the selected category. The sub-category updates the Short description field. If applicable, modify the Short description for the sub-category. The short description appears as the navigational tab in the Documentation Log panel on the practice template and on the ASC Documentation Log run-time template. Configure Documentation Log Entry Type and Navigational Tabs

In the Navigation panel, you can configure documentation log entry types and assign navigational tabs to each entry type. The configured entry types and navigational tabs appear in the Documentation Log panel on the Documentation Log Config practice template. On the Documentation Log Config practice template, expand the Navigation panel. In Entry Type, enter the type of entry. In Navigation item 1, enter a label for the first navigational tab. In Navigation item 2 through Navigation item 5 , enter navigational tab labels that appear consecutively after you select an entry under each navigational tab. Click Template and select the template(s) where the configured entries and the associated navigational tabs appear in run time. To clear all the fields and start over, click Clear. Click Add. Note: If duplicate entries are detected by the system, an alert message appears to notify users. The data is added to the grid at the bottom of the Navigation panel. Configure Categories for a Documentation Log Entry

In the Navigation Item2 panel, you can configure categories for an entry type. The configured categories appear after you select an entry type in the Documentation Log panel on the Documentation Log Config practice template. On the Documentation Log Config practice template, expand the Navigation Item2 panel. Click Entry Type to open a list of entry types configured in the Navigation panel. Select an entry type from the list. Note: After you select an entry type from the Entry Type field, the system changes the Navigation item 2 field label to the Navigation item 2 value documented in the Navigation panel. In Category, enter a category to be associated with the selected entry type. To clear data from the Navigation item 2 field and start over, click Clear. Click Add. Note: An alert message displays if the system detects any duplicate Navigation item 2. The category adds to the grid. Sort the Documentation Log Entries

The Documentation Log panel enables you to sort the entry types, categories, and descriptions. The entries in the run-time ASC Documentation Log template are in the same order as the entries in the Documentation Log panel. On the Documentation Log Config practice template, expand the Documentation Log panel. To sort an entry type, do the following: Select an entry type in the first left pane. Click the up or down arrow below the first left pane. The selected entry type moves to the new position. To sort a category or sub-category, do the following: Select an entry type in the first left pane. The associated categories appear in the second left pane. Select a category. If available, select a sub-category. Click the up or down arrow below the second left pane. The selected category or sub-category moves to the new position. Configure Medications for Medication Totals

The Documentation Log panel provides settings to display the medication names and dosage details on the ASC Medication Total template that opens from the Medication Totals link in the run-time Documentation Log panel. Note: By default, all the medication entries (except for Oxygen) in the Documentation Log panel of the practice template are configured to be included in the run-time ASC Medication Total template. On the Documentation Log Config practice template, expand the Documentation Log panel Select the Medications entry type from the first left pane. Select any Category of medication from the second pane. Select a medication from the right grid. The values populate in the corresponding fields above the grid. The Include in Medication Totals check box appears. Select Include in Medication Totals. Click Update. In run time, if you add medication(s) in the Documentation Log panel, the medication(s) with the Include in Medication Totals setting selected in the practice template appear

Document Description for an Entry Type in the Documentation Log Panel

On the Documentation Log Config practice template, expand the Documentation Log panel. Select an Entry Type from the first left pane. The associated categories appear in the second left pane. Select a Category and then a Sub Category, if available. In Value, enter a description up to 100 characters to associate with the selected entry type and category or sub-category. Click Selection type and select any of the following options from the list: Mutually exclusive : In run time, you cannot associate multiple descriptions with a category or sub-category. Multiple choice : In run time, you can select multiple descriptions for a category or sub-category. If applicable, click Value Type 1 and select any of the following options: Number Pad : In run time, a number pad opens when you select a description. Free Text: In run time, the Custom Value window opens when you select a description. Medication Name : Select Brand name or Generic name from the Medication Type list in the practice template
