Add a Sub-Category to a Category

In the Sub Navigation Item 2 panel, you can configure sub-categories for a category associated with an entry type. The categories are configured in the Navigational Item2 panel on the Documentation Log Config practice template. On the Documentation Log Config practice template, expand the Sub Navigation Item 2 panel. Click Entry Type and select an entry type from a list of entry types configured in the Navigation panel. Click Navigation Item 2 and select a category from a list of categories configured in the Navigation Item 2 panel. In Sub navigation item 2, enter a sub-category for the selected category. The sub-category updates the Short description field. If applicable, modify the Short description for the sub-category. The short description appears as the navigational tab in the Documentation Log panel on the practice template and on the ASC Documentation Log run-time template. Configure Values for Categories and Sub-Categories

In the Documentation Log panel, you can add descriptions to the category and/or sub-category associated with an entry type. The Documentation Log panel includes the buttons described below: Previous Level - Moves back to the previous level if you have more than one level for a description in the right grid. The Previous Level button is inactive for the first level of the description. You need to highlight a row in the grid and click the Previous Level button to view the previous level data. Next Level - Moves to the next level if you have more than one level for a description in the right grid. The Next Level button is inactive for the last level of the description. You need to select a row in the grid and click the Next Level button to view the next level data. In the run-time ASC Documentation Log template, the configured descriptions appear in the right grid after you select an entry type from the first left pane and a category or sub-category from the second left pane. Configure Categories for a Documentation Log Entry

In the Navigation Item2 panel, you can configure categories for an entry type. The configured categories appear after you select an entry type in the Documentation Log panel on the Documentation Log Config practice template. On the Documentation Log Config practice template, expand the Navigation Item2 panel. Click Entry Type to open a list of entry types configured in the Navigation panel. Select an entry type from the list. Note: After you select an entry type from the Entry Type field, the system changes the Navigation item 2 field label to the Navigation item 2 value documented in the Navigation panel. In Category, enter a category to be associated with the selected entry type. To clear data from the Navigation item 2 field and start over, click Clear. Click Add. Note: An alert message displays if the system detects any duplicate Navigation item 2. The category adds to the grid. Access the Documentation Log Config Practice Template

The Documentation Log Config practice template enables you to configure the documentation log entries. In run time, the configured documentation log entries appear on the ASC Documentation Log template that opens after you click the Add button in the Documentation Log panel on the Ambulatory Surgery framework templates From the File menu, select System\Practice Template. Click the Practice tab. In the Show section, click All. A list of practice templates opens. Select Documentation Log Config. Click OK. The Documentation Log Config practice template opens. Remove an Entry Type from the Navigation Panel

In the Navigation panel, you can remove an entry type from the grid. On the Documentation Log Config practice template, expand the Navigation panel. Select a row in the grid. Click Remove. If the entry type has associated values, a confirmation message appears. To confirm, click Yes. The selected entry type removes from the grid. Update the Documentation Log Entries

In the Navigation panel, you can modify the entry types and the associated navigational tabs in the grid. On the Documentation Log Config practice template, expand the Navigation panel. Select a row in the grid. The selected entry type details populate in the corresponding fields. Make relevant changes in the applicable fields. Click Update. The modified data updates in the grid.
