Remove the Documentation Log Descriptions

In the Documentation Log panel, you can remove the documentation log descriptions from the grid. On the Documentation Log Config practice template, expand the Documentation Log panel. In the right grid, select a description to be removed. Click Remove. A confirmation message appears. Note: If the selected record is required for regulatory, registry, or other reason(s) or for GIQuIC quality measures, an alert message appears indicating that the record has a value in the Required field. Click OK in the alert message to remove the record. To confirm, click Yes. The selected row is removed from the right grid. Parent topic: Configure Values for Categories and Sub-Categories

Document Description for an Entry Type in the Documentation Log Panel

On the Documentation Log Config practice template, expand the Documentation Log panel. Select an Entry Type from the first left pane. The associated categories appear in the second left pane. Select a Category and then a Sub Category, if available. In Value, enter a description up to 100 characters to associate with the selected entry type and category or sub-category. Click Selection type and select any of the following options from the list: Mutually exclusive : In run time, you cannot associate multiple descriptions with a category or sub-category. Multiple choice : In run time, you can select multiple descriptions for a category or sub-category. If applicable, click Value Type 1 and select any of the following options: Number Pad : In run time, a number pad opens when you select a description. Free Text: In run time, the Custom Value window opens when you select a description. Medication Name : Select Brand name or Generic name from the Medication Type list in the practice template

Sort the Documentation Log Entries

The Documentation Log panel enables you to sort the entry types, categories, and descriptions. The entries in the run-time ASC Documentation Log template are in the same order as the entries in the Documentation Log panel. On the Documentation Log Config practice template, expand the Documentation Log panel. To sort an entry type, do the following: Select an entry type in the first left pane. Click the up or down arrow below the first left pane. The selected entry type moves to the new position. To sort a category or sub-category, do the following: Select an entry type in the first left pane. The associated categories appear in the second left pane. Select a category. If available, select a sub-category. Click the up or down arrow below the second left pane. The selected category or sub-category moves to the new position. Configure Values for Categories and Sub-Categories

In the Documentation Log panel, you can add descriptions to the category and/or sub-category associated with an entry type. The Documentation Log panel includes the buttons described below: Previous Level - Moves back to the previous level if you have more than one level for a description in the right grid. The Previous Level button is inactive for the first level of the description. You need to highlight a row in the grid and click the Previous Level button to view the previous level data. Next Level - Moves to the next level if you have more than one level for a description in the right grid. The Next Level button is inactive for the last level of the description. You need to select a row in the grid and click the Next Level button to view the next level data. In the run-time ASC Documentation Log template, the configured descriptions appear in the right grid after you select an entry type from the first left pane and a category or sub-category from the second left pane. Edit the Procedure Documentation and Procedure Findings Descriptions

You can modify the procedure documentation or procedure findings details using the Documentation panel. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the File menu, select System \ Practice Template. In Select Template, select the Practice tab. In the Show section, select All.A list of practice templates opens. Select Procedure Documentation Config and select OK. On the Procedure Documentation Config practice template, expand the Documentation panel. Select Procedure and select a procedure from the list.The procedures are configured for a specialty on the Procedure Config practice template. Select Procedure documentation or Procedure findings. Select a section from the left pane.The associated descriptions appear in the right grid. Select a row in the right grid.The data fills the upper corresponding fields of the grid. Update the Documentation Log Entries

In the Navigation panel, you can modify the entry types and the associated navigational tabs in the grid. On the Documentation Log Config practice template, expand the Navigation panel. Select a row in the grid. The selected entry type details populate in the corresponding fields. Make relevant changes in the applicable fields. Click Update. The modified data updates in the grid.
