Procedures Panel

The Procedures panel on the PT Finalize template automatically displays treating procedures that were previously documented on the Treatment Panel of the Objective template as having been performed during the encounter. Treating procedures can be reviewed and updated. Options include: The ability to add up to three modifiers, the number of billing units, and the diagnosis code(s) associated with each of the treatment procedure(s) The ability to suppress billing for individual treatment procedure items Note: Billing units related to Medicare billing are automatically calculated based on the Medicare 8-minute rule when you select the Apply Medicare checkbox in the Payer panel. The Procedures panel displays the CPT code and total minutes spent performing the treatment. The time of like CPT codes is combined and appears as a single row with Total minutes for that CPT code. Document Wound Care Billing Information

The Wound Care panel on the PT Finalize template is where you document billing information for wound and/or incision care performed along with other service items for testing and supplies. The Other Testing section enables you do document billing information for items such as conduction testing, range of motion testing, biofeedback training and prosthetic training. The Supplies section enables you to document billing for the use of rehabilitative durable equipment such as air pressurized beds, specialized wound dressings and specialized hospital beds. Click the appropriate field in the desired section and select from the Service Item Master list that appears.The service item description and its CPT code appear in the corresponding fields. Add the Diagnosis for Therapy Evaluation

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Navigate to the Evaluation panel on the PT Finalize template. To associate the diagnosis with Therapy Evaluation: Highlight an assessment displayed in the Encounter Diagnoses grid. Click the Dx code field.The selected assessment’s Dx code appears in the field. To clear out all the fields in the Evaluation section, click Clear. If applicable, re-enter evaluation details by first selecting the Therapy Evaluation visit type. Parent topic: Evaluation Panel

Associate a Billing Code to a Procedure

You can associate a billing code and service category with procedures your practice performs using the Procedure Billing panel. The grid includes procedures configured in the Procedure Config practice template. Note: In the runtime templates, if a value entered in the Documentation panel is not associated with a procedure code, the system uploads the default procedure code available for the procedure in the Procedure Billing panel after you select the Auto Billing button. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the File menu, select System \ Practice Template. In Select Template, select the Practice tab. In the Show section, select All.A list of practice templates opens. Select Dx Groups Reference Systems and select OK. On the Dx Groups Reference Systems practice template, go to Procedure Billing Panel. Select a procedure record from the grid.The selected procedure data appears in the corresponding fields above the grid. Select Procedure description to open the procedure code search window.

Document Treatments Performed Today

The Performed Today section is used to document what treatments performed during the treatment encounter and enter additional information. Treatments, CPT and Time (mins) values carry forward to future encounters where they can be modified or updated as needed. Treatment Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Objective template, navigate to the Treatment panel. In the Performed Today section, complete treatment details performed. Click the Weight field and use the numeric keypad to enter the weight used when performing the exercise/treatment, if applicable. Click the Sets field to enter the number of sets of the exercise/treatment performed, if applicable. Click the Reps field to enter the number of repetitions performed in each set of the exercise/treatment. Click the Exertion field and select the exertion level when the exercise/treatment was being performed from the picklist. Document Therapy and Treatment Orders

The Therapy Orders template enables you to enter detailed information about prescribed therapy and treatment orders for the patient including the diagnosis, treatment type, physician goals and the number of authorized visits. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. To open the Therapy Order template, do one of the following: In the navigation bar, select Orders. In the Assessment / Plan panel on the SOAP template, select Therapy Orders. Select a diagnosis or an assessment in the Encounter Diagnoses or Treating Assessment section. Note: You can add or update the records in the Encounter Diagnoses or Treatment Assessment grids, if required. When you select a diagnosis in the Encounter Diagnoses or Treating Assessment grid, the diagnosis details appear in the corresponding read-only fields. You can select up to 4 diagnoses.
