View Links on the Checkout Template

The Checkout template includes the following links: Demographics. Allows you to document patient details such as contact number, address, Primary Care Physician (PCP), primary practice provider, insurance, pharmacy, provider, emergency contact, employment, and reminder details. Order Management. Allows you to update the applicable order details. Document Library Tobacco Cessation. Allows you to document tobacco history details, and medication screening questions. Document Library. Allows you to generate details from a list of documents. Community Resources. Allows you to document local resources and support recommended to the patient to aid in meeting the patients' psychosocial needs. Checkout Workflow

In NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine, patient checkout is the final step in documenting a patient encounter. The purpose of the Checkout template is to end the patient encounter by reviewing all orders and instructions, scheduling appointments and/or follow-up visits, and printing requisitions and instructions to give to the patient. The Checkout template has the following panels: Today’s Orders Patient Education Given to Patient/Verified Note: Ophthalmic diagnostic tests are ordered from the Order Tests - OPH template. Checkout can be completed by office staff or the technician depending on the practice. In this document, we use the term “Checkout Staff” to refer to the individual whose role it is to check out the patient at the end of the encounter before the patient leaves. Template Links

You can use links to open frequently used templates. Based on the configuration in the Framework Content system template, links appear in the Intake, Histories, SOAP, Finalize, and Checkout tabs. The appearance of these links can vary based on the specialty, visit type, template, tab, and age of the patient. The links can be configured based on the following: Specialty Practice Provider Specialty and practice Specialty and provider These links are associated with a particular tab. You can configure a specific link on various tabs. Sub Navigation Set Up Links You can use the Framework Content system template to configure the links.
