Allergy Testing Workflow

You can test and document a patient's asthma related issues on the Testing - Allergy template. You can perform and document the results of allergy testing for the Testing Only visit type. You can use the Testing - Allergy template for the following tests: Prick test ID test Challenge test Allergen Specific IgE test Begin a Testing Only Visit You can use the Testing Only visit type for patients allergy testing only. Placing Allergy Orders and Documenting Test You can document the test result in the Prick/ID/Challenge Test panel on the Testing - Allergy template. Challenge Tests Panel You can use the Challenge Tests panel to enter the administration and other test data for previously ordered challenge tests. Provider Workflow for Allergy Testing You can review the patient's medical summary details on the Home Page template and then proceed to the SOAP and Finalize templates. Document Reasons for Visit

You can document the reasons for the visit of a patient in the Reason for Visit panel. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Intake – Cardiology template. Select the Reason for Visit panel. To add a Reason for Visit, do one of the following. To enter the reason for the visit and do not want to enter the history of present illness, select the Do not launch HPI checkbox. From the left pane, select a reason for visit. Click the Other list, select a reason for a visit from the list, and then click OK to get the corresponding window to fill in the information. The reason for the visit is added. To enter additional information for the provider to review, click the Intake Comments link, and type your comments.When you enter additional information, the Intake Comments link appears purple on both the Intake and SOAP tabs. For each symptom, do the following. If a symptom is not present, select the Absent checkbox. The grid displays a statement of negative findings in the History of Present Illn

Document the Reason for Visit

The Reason for Visit panel is where the reason for visit, as described by the patient, is documented, along with an initial History of Present Illness (HPI). The provider should review reasons for visit, update if necessary, and complete HPI information. Reason for Visit Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. If the Introduction field contains text, review the content and make any necessary changes.The introduction appears as the first sentence of the visit note, and it can be edited for the individual patient. A typical introduction might contain the patient's age, gender, and the reason for visit. If the introduction field is blank, compose an introduction for the patient. If checked, click to clear the Do not Launch HPI checkbox. In the Reason for Visit data grid, click one of the reasons for visit entered previously to open the HPI template to add additional details. Record Allergen Specific IgE Test Results

You can review and enter Allergen Specific IgE test results in the Orders panel. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the SOAP - Allergy template, expand the Orders panel, and then select Labs. The ordered tests display in the grid. Select the ordered test from the grid, and then select Edit. The Orders Edit template opens. In the Result/report section, do the following: Select Completed after you have evaluated the test values. Select the On field, and select the test evaluation date. Open the Allergy Home Page

You can use the Templates module to open the Home Page - Allergy template. Before you begin When you open the Home Page - Allergy template, ensure to select the specialty and visit type to open the framework template set for Allergy and Immunology. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. To open the Templates module on a patient encounter, do one of the following: On the Categories or Encounter History tab, select Open Template. On Top Toolbar, select Templates. On the main menu, select File > New > Template. The Select Template window opens. Select the Medical Records tab. In the Show section, select the All option. Document the Patient's Reason for Visit as a Provider

The reason for visit added by the intake staff on the Intake template appears on the SOAP template. The Introduction field is an editable field that displays a brief summary of the patient's reason for visit. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the SOAP template, in the Reason for Visit panel, do one of the following: Select one of the reasons for visit entered previously. Select a complaint from the reasons for visits in the left pane. The associated HPI template opens. Note: If you select reason(s) for visit using the Additional / Manage link, then the reasons appear in the Chief Complaint column in the data grid. You must select the reasons listed in the Chief Complaint column in the data grid to open the associated HPI template. Reason for Visit panel On the associated HPI template, enter the appropriate data. Enter any comments. Select Save & Close.
