Managing Practice Configurations

You can configure settings for specific specialties or all specialties using the Practice Configuration template. The Practice Configuration template is the central location for configuring settings for the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine templates of different specialties. You can set default options and configure certain features in the run-time templates. Basic Configuration and Setup Procedures

You can configure the settings and setup procedures for your dental practice using the Configuration Home template. Using the Configuration Home template, you can set the template preferences, add the desired links on templates, configure task recipients, customize the reasons for visit, and so on. Getting Started

NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine templates enable you to document patient encounters on the visit types associated with the available specialties. You can also configure new links, navigation bar, reasons for visit, set up default templates, preferences, and so on. Managing Basic Configuration Before you begin, you can configure some optional settings such as template preferences, template links, and so on. Managing Basic User Interface Functionality Accessing and Setting up Templates from Navigation Bar You can access and configure various templates in the Navigation bar. General Office and Virtual Visit Workflow You can find general and virtual visit workflows in the Intake and Histories template.

Default Visit Specialties

You can set the default visit specialty for the rendering provider. You can configure the Default Visit Specialty panel on the Framework Content system template. When the rendering provider selects a default visit specialty for a patient's encounter, the same visit specialty copies forward to the next encounter. NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine includes a number of specialty-specific templates that open with a pre-defined Specialty at runtime. For example, if you select the Home Page - Allergy template from the Templates module, the application automatically displays Allergy and Immunology in the Specialty field. You can configure the same in the Framework Template Set section of the Practice Configuration practice template.
