Add Staging Detail
You can add additional staging details for these cancer types:
Breast Cancer
Lymphoma
Prostate Cancer
Soft Tissue Sarcoma
Testicular Cancer
Small Cell Lung Cancer
Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia
Access the
Onc Treatment Summary
template and scroll to the
Staging
panel.
Click
Add
under the
Staging
grid.
The
Cancer Details
template appears.
Note:
All three
Add
buttons in the
Staging
panel open the
Cancer Details
template.
Expand the
Staging Detail
panel.
Go to the section on the panel for the specific cancer type and complete the fields for which you have data.
Optionally, click the
Comments
field and enter additional notations regarding the patient or patient's condition.
Click
Save & Close
.
You are returned to the
Onc Treatment Summary
template. A new record for the entered data appears in the
Staging Details
grid.

Add Notes
Access the Onc Treatment Summary template and scroll to the Notes panel. Notes Click the Type field and select a note type from the list. Note: My Phrases functionality is keyed to the selected note type enabling you to define a separate set of My Phrases for each type of cancer note. For more information on managing and using the My Phrases functionality, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Getting Started User Guide for NextGen Adaptive Content Engine. Type notations about the patient or the patient's condition or disease into the Note field. Note: Use the Clear button to clear the data entry fields of all data. Click Add. The system adds the note to the Notes grid. Note: The Notes grid only shows Notes added during the current encounter. To view notes from a previous encounter, you must open a previous encounter or generate a document. Stage a Cancer
Prior to staging cancer, you should enter the cancer diagnosis for the patient. If you do not, you can select a diagnosis during the procedure. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR and open a patient encounter. Select the specialty as Oncology and visit type as Office Visit. On the homepage, do the following to access the Cancer Details template. Click the left navigation bar. Click Cancer Treatment Summary. Staging On the staging panel, click any of the three Add buttons. The Cancer Details template opens. Cancer Details On the staging panel, click any of the three Add buttons. To document cancer details manually (using free text), select Enable free text. In the Cancer Type section, select Primary or Secondary. The system populates the Dx Date field with the original date of diagnosis if it is documented in the Diagnosis module else, the field remains blank. Note: If the diagnosis (Dx) date is not in sync with the diagnosis date documented in the Problem/Diagnosis module, you must correct it

Generate an Oncology Treatment Summary Document

Enter Cancer Data
Access the Onc Treatment Summary template and scroll to the Notes panel. Click the Type field and select Progress from the list. Type a progress note in the data entry area and click Add. The progress note appears in the grid. Click the Type field and select Radiation Oncology from the list. Type a radiation oncology narrative in the data entry area and click Add. The narrative appears in the grid. Scroll to the Problem List panel, click Add or Edit, and enter the following information: Problem Description Onset Date onc treatment summary template prob list Return to the Onc Treatment Summary template and select Tobacco Cessation from the left Navigation menu. The Tobacco Cessation template appears. Click the Tobacco Usage link. The Social History – Tobacco template appears. Enter the patient’s smoking use information and click OK. Edit Staging Records
You can only edit records created during the current encounter. However, you can edit a record from a locked encounter and save it as a new record. Access the Onc Treatment Summary template and scroll to the Staging panel. Locate and select the record to be edited on any of the panel grids. Click Edit for the grid where you selected the record . The Cancer Details template appears populated with data from the selected record. Make the necessary changes to the editable data fields. Click Save & Close. You are returned to the Onc Treatment Summary template and your changes appear in the grid. Remove a Staging Record
You can only remove records created during the current encounter. Access the Onc Treatment Summary template and scroll to the Staging panel.
