You must use clinical relevant information to identify patients who must receive reminders for preventive or follow-up care. To meet the Quality Reporting requirement and receive a Quality Reporting credit on the Telephone Call template, you must only send reminders based on the patient's preferred time and method of contact. A patient's decision to opt out of reminders can be recorded, and that patient can still be counted toward the Quality Reporting requirement.
- Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
- In the Telephone Call template, expand the Reminder panel.
- To add the reminders, do the following:
Note: If the patient does not want reminders, you can select the Patient declines reminders checkbox, and then save and close the template.
- Select a reminder type.
- In Contact method, select Preferred or Other, and then select a method.
- In the Sent field, select a date.
- Enter additional comments related to the patient reminder.
- Select Add.
- Save and close the template.
