Virtual Visit Scheduling Requirements for
NextGen® Enterprise EHR

NextGen Enterprise PM
The
NextGen® Enterprise API
must be configured for your practice.
The provider must be enrolled in
NextGen Virtual Visits™
as a scheduled user.
The provider and practice must be marked as active.
The virtual visit appointment or event type must be configured in the
NextGen Virtual Visits™
platform.

Schedule On-Demand NextGen Virtual Visits™
Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the File menu, select New and then select Schedule On Demand NextGen Virtual Visit. NextGen Virtual Visits™ will open in a new tab. Note: You need to use Chrome™ or Firefox® as default browsers and ensure production URL for NextGen Virtual Visits™ is correctly maintained in System Administrator to schedule the virtual visits. For more information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest System Administrator Guide for NextGen® Enterprise. Select the plus icon in NextGen Virtual Visits™, and do one of the following: Select Patient Search to schedule virtual visits for existing patients. Select Quick Add to schedule virtual visits for new patients. Once the virtual visit is scheduled, both provider and the patient will receive a unique URL to join the virtual visit through email and/or text message. Parent topic: NextGen Virtual Visits

NextGen Virtual Visits™ Integration with NextGen Healthcare Products
NextGen Virtual Visits™ integrates with NextGen® Enterprise EHR and NextGen® Enterprise PM to provide a seamless workflow from start to finish. The ideal workflow consists of the following: A virtual visit event is scheduled in NextGen® Enterprise PM. The patient receives a visit confirmation by text message or email containing high-level information and a unique visit link. Note: Additional reminders are configurable. When the patient joins the visit on a device with audio and video turned on, NextGen Virtual Visits™ checks the patient in, creates the encounter, and marks the visit as kept in NextGen® Enterprise EHR and NextGen® Enterprise PM. The provider views any configured intake information in the NextGen Virtual Visits™ platform before joining the patient in the visit. Documentation and billing processes remain unchanged in your system. When ready, the provider ends the visit, which sends the visit details in a PDF file to the previously created encounter in NextGen® Enterprise

Schedule Integrated On-Demand Virtual Visits
Within NextGen Virtual Visits™, select the Visits Visits icon icon from the main menu. Select the plus Plus icon on the bottom left side of the page. Search for a patient using the first name, last name, and date of birth. Select the patient from the search results. Confirm or update the patient’s email address and mobile phone number, as necessary. Updates are reflected in NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
