NextGen Virtual Visits™ Help

Practice User Types

NextGen Virtual Visits™ supports the following licensed user types: scheduled users and support users. Scheduled users have visits scheduled with patients. If your practice uses NextGen® Enterprise PM, a practice user can schedule a virtual visit with this provider, which is then displayed in the Upcoming Visits list in NextGen Virtual Visits™. Support users have access to multiple provider calendars within NextGen Virtual Visits™. A support user can log on to a specific practice and use the Provider Switcher to select the necessary provider. The support user can then view upcoming patient visit information and join a visit if needed. These users can also schedule on-demand visits for providers and invite guests to visit on behalf of the patient or the provider. Enroll as a Scheduled or Support User Scheduled and support users complete their enrollment from an email.

Practice Configuration to Allow Emails from NextGen Virtual Visits™

NextGen Virtual Visits™ utilizes a static Internet Protocol (IP) address to send communications from the application, such as appointment confirmations and reminders. Visit Type

Select a visit type: NP (New Patient), Consult, or Est (Established). This is a required field. On the Billable Visit template, the Visit Type field is a required field. If the patient is not a new patient, the system suggests a Visit Type based on the last billed office visit date. Note: If the practice has configured the application to allow users to override the Visit Type, users can select a Visit Type other than the suggested ones. If this feature is disabled, you are limited to one of the suggested visit types. Send Enrollment Invitations

A notification for the enrollment email is sent as a text message if: Your practice has enabled this functionality The recipient has provided a valid mobile number The URL for each recipient is unique and must not be shared with others. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Do one of the following: From the File menu, select Patient Portal > Enroll Now. On the Patient Lookup window, select , and then select Patient Portal > Enroll Now. On the Patient Lookup window, right-click the patient name, and select Patient Portal > Enroll Now. A confirmation window opens. Select Enroll Now. If you have not entered any value in any of the mandatory fields for enrollment, a message appears listing the fields that have missing patient information. Missing fields display on the Patient Portal Enrollment window The patient enrollment status changes to Pending in the system. Document General Patient Information

In the General panel, select New patient or Established patient. The patient type is required for billing purposes and determines the type of visit code calculated on the Finalize tab. If the patient has been seen previously, the system automatically selects Established patient. Click the Historian field and select a value from the list or select the top blank line to type a different value. To enter a different date for First seen, click the field and select a date using the Calendar. For Vision Correction, select Yes or No. If yes, enter the Type and Years for the following: Glasses Contact Lenses Select OD or OS for Dominant Eye. Enrollment Methods

You can enroll a patient using one of the following methods: Invitation Based Enrollment You can send enrollment invitations to a patients through emails. The patient can open the invitation link provided in the email and complete the enrollment in NextGen® PxP Portal. A notification message for the enrollment invitation email is sent to the patient as a text message if they have provided a valid mobile number. The URL sent to each patient or person is unique and must not be shared with others. Bulk Enrollment Invitation You can contact the NextGen Implementation Team to send invitations to all patients in your practice for enrolling in NextGen® PxP Portal. Note: To enable sending notification for the enrollment invitation email as text message to patients with valid mobile number, you must select Enroll w/ SMS in the Patient Activation page in Site Generator.
