After a medication is stopped, it is removed from the Active grid view and moved to the Inactive grid view. You can select the Inactive option to view and confirm stopped medications. The medication is no longer available for administration in the Medication Administration (BH) template.
- From the Medication grid, select an active medication.
- In the Stop Date field, enter the date you want to stop the medication. The stop date must be after the Start Date and cannot be a future date.
- Select in the Stop Time field and the time defaults to the current system time.
- Select Stop Drug.
The stop time displays in the
Stop Time/Reason/Comment field. If the medication was a scheduled medication, an alert appears.
- Do one of the following:
- To stop the medication but not make any changes to the MAR administration schedule for the medication, select No.
- To clear all schedules for this medication, select Yes on the alert.
If
Yes, the medication is stopped and all associated schedules for the medication no longer display in the
Scheduled Medications grid. The medication displays in the
Medication Administration History panel and
Medication Administration History window with a
Status of
Stopped and the
Med Note indicates
Bulk Removal along with the user, date, and time.
