Managing Caseloads

The Program Caseload Summary (BH) template provides functionality to support the review of clinical caseloads, over of services, and due dates for treatment plans. Note: You can control all patients in a program from the Demographics template. You can collect the caseload summary data from the Program, Location, and Provider fields in the tis_programs_hx window from the Demographics template. For more information on enrolling patients into programs, see Add or Modify a Client's Program. Enroll a Patient in a Program

You can enroll a patient in a program from Patient Chart in NextGen® Enterprise PM. The patient must be enrolled in a program before you link their encounters to that program. Note: The Behavioral Health Phase 3 (BH 3.0) templates in NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine enable you to enroll patients in programs from a template in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. For example, if you use the BH-Program Enrollment template in NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine, the Program Enrollment window in NextGen® Enterprise PM automatically displays the same information. From Patient Chart, select the Patient Information tab, and then select the Programs sub-tab. The existing program enrollments for the patient are listed in the Programs section. Note: The Programs sub-tab appears only if you select the Enable Programs check box on the Programs preference in the Practice Preferences window. Document the Patient's Psychiatric Rehabilitation Progress

You can document psychiatric rehabilitation services, and track and review the progress of the patient's treatment plan. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and then in Patient History, select Open Templates. The Select Template window opens. On the Medical Records tab, select All. Select Psychiatric Rehabilitation Progress (BH), and then select OK. Note: You can open the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Progress (BH) template from your Packet Navigation, or from the Templates module. For more information on configuring Packet Navigation, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the Configuration Guide for NextGen® Behavioral Health Suite. Program Configuration

You can also configure the following program-related options to help your clinical process: Set program-specific Packet Navigation. Set default values for Specialty and Visit Type by program. Display the Specialty and Visit Type fields on templates by program. Make payer details as required during the client's program enrollment. Set program-specific Goals and Objectives in the patient's ISP. When a new encounter is created, the Select a Program window displays all programs the client is enrolled in. The program list displays only the current enrollment of clients on the date of the selected encounter. If a program is not available in the picklist, you must add a program for the client or ensure the existing program's open and close dates coincide with the selected encounter date. Document Therapy and Treatment Orders

The Therapy Orders template enables you to enter detailed information about prescribed therapy and treatment orders for the patient including the diagnosis, treatment type, physician goals and the number of authorized visits. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. To open the Therapy Order template, do one of the following: In the navigation bar, select Orders. In the Assessment / Plan panel on the SOAP template, select Therapy Orders. Select a diagnosis or an assessment in the Encounter Diagnoses or Treating Assessment section. Note: You can add or update the records in the Encounter Diagnoses or Treatment Assessment grids, if required. When you select a diagnosis in the Encounter Diagnoses or Treating Assessment grid, the diagnosis details appear in the corresponding read-only fields. You can select up to 4 diagnoses. Document the Assessment and Billing Information

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and then in Patient History, select Open Templates. The Select Template window opens. On the Medical Records tab, select All. Select Assessment/Reassessment Billing (BH), and then select OK. In the Time Entry Navigation sidebar, select Billing Time Entry, and then enter the start time. Note: You can select the current time or enter the time manually. Select the program, specialty, and visit type. Note: Only programs that the patient is actively enrolled in appear in the list. You can select <No Program> to create an encounter without a program, and then add the program later. In the Individuals Present panel, document the details of the individuals present during the assessment. In the Treatment Recommendations/Assessed Needs panel, document the recommended treatments and the patient's needs. Document the patient's assessment and diagnosis details.
