Update Service Code Mappings

Open the BH Foundation Configuration template, and then expand the Service Code Mapping panel. To filter the list, enter the search criteria in the respective fields above the grid headers, and then select Filter. The mappings matching the search criteria appear in the grid. Select a row to modify. The mapping information appears in the respective fields. Change the required details, and then select Update. The updated mapping information appears in the grid. Configure Service Code Mapping

The fields across the top of the Service Code Mapping panel correspond directly with the data grid. For service code mapping, you must fill all the fields except Practice, Program, and Location. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select File > System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens and displays the system-related templates. Select the Practice tab, and then select All to display all the practice templates. Select BH Foundation Configuration, and then select OK. In the BH Foundation Configuration template, expand the Service Code Mapping panel. Note: If the code you are mapping is not practice-specific, leave this field blank. To map a code to a specific contract or payer, select Contract/Payer, and then select the payer or contract. Note: The displayed list pulls data from either the Contract library or the Payers master file in File Maintenance.

Generate SIM Code Mapping Reports

You can generate a report of all mapped SIM codes using the Reports functionality in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the BH Foundation Configuration template. From the File menu, select Reports > Generate Report > By Enterprise. The Report Filter window opens. Select SP in the Settings List section. Select Stored Procedure, and then select ngsprep_tis_sim_mapping from the list. To select the columns you want to display on your report, use the Columns tab. To set up how the columns should be sorted or grouped, use the Sorting option in the Settings List. Select OK. The report gets generated and opens in another window. Remove a Unit Code Calculation

Service Code Mapping

Service code mapping is a core component of Behavioral Health billing on BH templates for version 3.5 and above. Service codes can be mapped by practice, billing contract or payer, location, and program, credentials, templates, and threshold durations. This mapping promotes cleaner billing on the front end by limiting staff to only the approved codes for their credential level, location, or program. Since codes can be mapped to individual BH templates, this gives you the added ability to map only those codes appropriate for a workflow. For example, the Progress Note template may only have codes mapped to it that are appropriate for this type of activity and then can be further limited by the credential level of the staff member completing the template. Add a New Service Code Mapping Using a Default Mapping

On the Service Code Mapping system template, select a practice from the Filter by field. The service code mappings associated with the selected practice appear in the grid. Highlight a row in the grid. The selected data populates in the corresponding fields above the grid. Update the fields in the Map Service Code section with the appropriate values. Click Add. Note: An alert on the Service Code Mapping system template helps prevent duplicate entries of the Payer, Visit type, and Provider Level. A newly created service code mapping appears in the grid. To modify a grid entry, highlight the entry to populate the fields above with the data, make the changes and click Update. To delete committed data, highlight the grid row and click Remove button.
