Document Group Visit Information

You can document the details of group sessions, including the therapy progress of each individual.

There are several types of psychotherapy visits, of these, group visits are a common occurrence in the behavioral health setting. Family and group psychotherapy visits can only be completed for a patient who is already designated as a member of a group in the system.
  1. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and then select File > New > Group Encounter.
  2. Choose a patient group, and then select OK.
  3. To access the Group Prog Note (BH) template, select Select Template Template Icon
    The Select Template window opens.
  4. On the Group tab, select All.
  5. Select Group Prog Note (BH).
  6. Select the program, specialty, and visit type.
  7. Document the group details such as the number of members, co-facilitators, and the place of the group session.
  8. Document whether there are new issues for the group.
  9. In the Goals, Objectives, and Interventions Addressed Today panel, document the patient's goals, objectives, and interventions addressed on the current date.
  10. Enter your plan and discussion regarding the patient's treatment.
  11. Document the patient's assessment and diagnosis details.
  12. Document the applicable signatures from the tasking supervisor or staff.
  13. In the Charges panel, document the billing details.
  14. Optional: Select No Billing for Service if there is no charge for the current date.
