Message Pruning Settings

These settings allow you to decide when to prune and archive message data (if at all). Note that pruning does not happen automatically unless you enable the scheduler in the Data Pruner Settings Tab. For more information about message data in general, see About Message Data. Item Name Description A Store indefinitely When selected, message metadata are never pruned. B Prune metadata When selected, this field determines how long to retain message metadata before it is pruned. C Prune when metadata is removed When selected, message content follows the same pruning options set in the Prune metadata field. D Prune content When selected, the field here determines how long to retain message content before it is pruned. E Allow message archiving When checked and the data pruner and archiver are enabled, messages in this channel are archived first before they are pruned. Settings View

The Settings view encompasses a wide variety of management settings and tasks for your Mirth® Connect server. Some of the settings are channel-specific (such as channel tags), and others are more general (such as default email settings). Image of the Settings view. Navigation Server Settings Tab The Server Settings tab shows general global settings that pertain to the server or default channel properties. Administrator Settings Tab The Administrator Settings tab shows settings specific to the client machine running the Mirth® Connect Administrator. Tags Settings Tab The Tags tab provides a general management view for all channel tags configured on your server. Configuration Map Settings Tab The Configuration Map tab enables you to edit the entries in the configuration map for the current server. Prune Settings

Item Name Description F Block Size The number of messages that will be pruned at a time. This value must be between 50 and 10,000. The recommended value for most servers is 1,000. Larger values use more memory but typically will cause the pruner to perform more quickly. G Prune Events Select Yes to prune event records older than the number of days set in Prune Event Age field. Select No to leave event records unpruned. H Prune Event Age Enter the number of days that event records will be kept before pruning them. Schedule

Item Name Description C Enable Identifies whether the Data Pruner will run on a recurring schedule. Select Yes if to enable the Data Pruner. When Yes is selected, the schedule set up in the Schedule Type and Interval fields is executed. Select No to execute execute the the Data Pruner manually. When No is selected, you can manually execute Data Pruning from the Data Pruner Tasks menu using the Prune Now task. D Schedule Type Select the type of schedule to use for the pruner from the pull-down menu. Available schedule types include:: Interval Time Cron For additional information about schedule types, see Polling Settings.
