Channel Properties

ItemNameDescription
ANameThe name of the channel. Only alphanumeric (a-z / 0-9) characters, spaces, hyphens, and underscores are allowed.
BEnabledIndicates whether the channel is ready to be deployed. All enabled channels will automatically be deployed with the Mirth® Connect by NextGen Healthcare server starts up. If there is an error in your channel configuration, this will automatically be unchecked.
CSet Data Types DialogConfigure data types across your entire channel, from the source connector to each of your destination connectors. Allows easy bulk editing of data type properties. For additional information, see Set Data Types.
DClear global channel map on deployIf checked, the global channel map for this channel will be cleared out whenever the channel is redeployed.
ESet DependenciesConfigures Code Template Libraries, Library Resources, and Deploy/Start Dependencies for this channel. For more information, see Set Dependencies Window.
FInitial StateDetermines what state the channel should be in after it is deployed.
  • Started: The entire channel (source and destination connectors) are started.
  • Paused: Only the destination connectors is started. The channel does not automatically receive new messages, but existing queued messages will still dispatch outbound.
  • Stopped: The channel is stopped. No messages are received or dispatched outbound.
GAttachmentDetermines how the channel extracts and stores attachments. Each attachment handler does this in a different way. Select the handler to use from the drop-down menu, then select the Properties button to edit the configuration for that handler. For additional information, see Attachment Handlers.
HStore Attachments
  • If checked, any attachments that are extracted are stored in the database and available for reattachment.
  • If unchecked, attachments can be extracted from the incoming message but are not stored.
ITagsThe list of channel tags included on this channel. Type into this field to auto-complete currently existing tags. You can also type a new tag name and select Enter to create a new tag. For additional information, see Filter By Channel Name or Tag

When new tags are created here, the color is chosen at random. This may be changed later in the tag management view (see Tags Settings Tab for additional information).

JIdThe ID of the channel. This field can be copied by either selecting it or by clicking the copy icon.
KRevisionThe current revision of the channel. Every time the channel is saved, the revision automatically increments if anything actually changed. This does not apply to certain metadata items like the Enabled flag, the Last Modified date, pruning settings, and tags.
LLast ModifiedThe date and time the channel was last successfully saved.
