Update the Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare Software

Updates to Mirth® applications, new features, bug fixes, and security patches are all delivered online and controlled from the appliance.

  1. To manually check for updates:
    • On the Dashboard window, select the Check for Updates link.

    • Select System > Software Updates.

    The Software Updates window appears.
  2. Select the Check for Updates button.
    The appliance queries the update server for available updates. During this process, the window updates with the progress as each step is completed, and a status message provides the number of available updates when the query is finished.

  3. Select Okay to proceed to the Software Updates window.

    The Software Updates window displays a history of update activity on the appliance.

    The Status column lets you know if the update is available, downloading, ready to install, installed, or obsolete. The Action column contains a button if there is an action associated with the current state of the update and allow you to control when updates are downloaded and installed. You can also suspend a large download and resume it later.

  4. To check for updates, select Check for Updates.
    The appliance attempts to contact the update server to determine which updates are available for your system. If an update is available, it appears as the first entry of the table.
  5. Use buttons in the Action column to complete the download and installation of the software.
    When an update is installing, progress messages are displayed. When the installation is complete you are redirected to the Dashboard window.
