Applications Menu

The Applications menu enables you to configure the Control Panel and any applications installed on the appliance. The Control Panel and each installed application appears in the menu, with a sub-menu enabling you to open and/or manage the application. You can also do these tasks directly from the Applications Control window. It is likely that you have Mirth® Connect installed as one of your applications. The sub-menus for Mirth® Connect contain some extra choices, including Clustering. See Mirth Connect Advanced Clustering for more information. You can perform Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare system administration with the System menu on the Control Panel web application. Note: No special operating system or command line knowledge is necessary to perform any of the functions in the System menu. Use the Help Menu

Help provides you with access to a variety of help resources for using and managing the appliance. Use the Help menu to access a variety of help resources for using and managing the Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare. It also provides some support for Mirth® Connect. Select Downloads to download files related to the Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare. The Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare SNMP MIB is the management information base for managing the Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare using SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol). Using the Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare Control Panel

The Control Panel is a web interface where you can view and set the details of the Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare configuration, and monitor and control its operation. The default credentials are: username: admin password: admin Important: You should delete or change the default credentials as soon as possible. When you are logged on to the Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare, the Control Panel displays a series of menus. Selecting the name of the menu takes you to the first item in that menu by default. For example, if you select System on the menu goes, you go directly to the Dashboard. The Control Panel includes three indicators with a current status for each. Browse, View, and Manage User-Accessible Directories

You can view and manage user-accessible folders (directories). /folders window In the Control Panel, select Folders > Browse. To add a folder to the current directory, select the New Folder link. To open a folder, select the folder name link. Note: To go up one folder level, select Back Arrow. To upload a file to the current folder, select the Upload link. To delete files in the folder, select the files by using any of the following options, and then select the Delete link: To select all the files in a folder, select the All link. To clear the checkboxes for all the files, select the None link. To reverse the selected or cleared checkboxes, select the Invert link. Defining Default Folders The default folders on the appliance have different purposes. Some folders are used by Mirth® Connectwhile others are used by services on the appliance. Manage the Control Panel

The Control Panel Settings window enables you to personalize the Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare. Select Applications > Applications Control. Select Manage to open the Control Panel Settings window. Control Panel Settings window Enter a unique Appliance Name to identify the appliance. CAUTION: It is very important to set the Appliance Name, especially in cases where there is more than one appliance on the same network or managed by the same person. If necessary, set the user inactivity timeout period, the name of your company, and the name, title, and contact number for the appliance’s administrator. In the VPN instructions sent to VPN users, the administrator information is included as the administrative contact in case of problems with the VPN. Select Update to save the settings.
