Add and Delete Network Folders

You can manage network folders by adding and deleting them.

  1. Select Folders > Network Folders.
    Existing network folders appear as links under Local Path on the Manage Network Folders window.

  2. To open a network folder, select a link.
  3. To remove a network folder, select Delete in the Action column.
  4. To create a network folder:
    1. Select Add Network Folder.

    2. On the Add Network Folder window, provide the following:
      • Folder Name: the local name for the network folder. The name cannot contain any spaces or special characters.
      • Type: the remote server file system. Select Windows for Windows® or Samba, or select NFS for Unix or Linux.
      • Network Path: Network path you want to attach to. For a Windows® share, the format should be: //serverNameOrIP/ShareName. For an NFS export, the format should be ServerNameOrIP:/path/to/mount
    3. If you selected Windows as the Type, additional fields appear and you must enter the following:
      • Username: Windows username for Windows share
      • Password: Windows password for Windows share
      • Domain: Windows Workgroup or Domain name (Optional)
      • Require NTLMv2: Require NTLMv2 (NT LAN Manager version 2) password hashing (Optional)
    4. If you selected NFS as the Type, additional fields appear and you must enter the following:
      • Options: a comma-separated list of attributes for the folder. The default options are appropriate for most customers. If you have problems connecting, consult your local network administrator or NextGen Healthcare Support.

    5. Select Add to create the network folder.
      After adding a network folder, you can find it in the folder browser, under the network directory.
