Configure Automatic Backups

The Automatic Backups service enables you to configure automatic backup operations.

Automatic Backups window

  1. Select Services > Auto Backup.
  2. Select a backup set, a start time, and a notification option, and then select Update.

    The Automatic Backups window displays a notice with the appliance’s current time setting to make sure it matches your expectations. The notice includes a link to change the appliance’s time zone and NTP server information if necessary.

    The Backup Set menu displays any backup set defined in the System menu. The Start Time menu displays time in 15-minute increments from midnight (0:00) to 11:45 PM (23:45), and shows the currently set time zone. The notification options are Always, Only on errors, and Never.

  3. After filling in the form, select Update.

    This action does not start the service if the Automatic Backups service was not running previously. The appliance warns you about this with a notice at the top of the window.

  4. Select the link to go to the Services window where you can start the Automatic Backups service.
