Services Control

The Services Control window enables you to view each of the services installed on the appliance and whether they are running or stopped. Each Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare includes a number of components that add features and functionality to the appliance in addition to any applications installed on the appliance. Use the Control Panel to manage the components and applications as services. To access the Services Control window, select Services > Services Control . Services Control window A service displayed in green is running; a service displayed in red is stopped. From this window, you can view each of the services installed on the Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare and whether they are running or stopped. To start a service that is stopped, select the Start button. To stop a service that is running, select the Stop button. To configure or manage a service, select the service’s Manage button. Configure Automatic Backups

The Automatic Backups service enables you to configure automatic backup operations. Automatic Backups window Select Services > Auto Backup. Select a backup set, a start time, and a notification option, and then select Update. The Automatic Backups window displays a notice with the appliance’s current time setting to make sure it matches your expectations. The notice includes a link to change the appliance’s time zone and NTP server information if necessary. The Backup Set menu displays any backup set defined in the System menu. The Start Time menu displays time in 15-minute increments from midnight (0:00) to 11:45 PM (23:45), and shows the currently set time zone. The notification options are Always, Only on errors, and Never. After filling in the form, select Update. This action does not start the service if the Automatic Backups service was not running previously. The appliance warns you about this with a notice at the top of the window. Managing Users and Roles with the Directory Service

The directory service is intended to provide a single place for user and role management across multiple appliances. It does not matter which appliance that the changes are made to as any new changes are replicated to all other appliances added under Replication Management. When you create or modify a user on one appliance, the changes automatically replicate to all other appliances participating in the replication. When you set up clustering, the nodes are automatically set up to replicate, so there is no need to manually add the other appliance in the cluster. Update the Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare Software

Updates to Mirth® applications, new features, bug fixes, and security patches are all delivered online and controlled from the appliance. To manually check for updates: On the Dashboard window, select the Check for Updates link. Select System > Software Updates. The Software Updates window appears. Select the Check for Updates button.The appliance queries the update server for available updates. During this process, the window updates with the progress as each step is completed, and a status message provides the number of available updates when the query is finished. The following columns are available in the Service Configurations section on the Service Unit Limitation Maintenance. Column Name Description Service Configuration Name The name of the service configuration. Custom Max The values in the Custom Max column appear only if the default Max is updated with custom values for a specific service configuration. For more information, see Enter a Custom Max and Duration for a Service Configuration. Max The maximum number of units or hours allowed for services included in the configuration. Max Type The type of maximum for services included in the configuration, either Unit or Hour. Duration The number of days allowed for services included in the configuration. If this field is blank, the configuration uses the number of days between the start date and stop date.
