Working with Reports On-Screen

When you initially run a report, it displays the data. This is not a Print Preview; it is not an accurate representation of how the report looks when you print it. To see the report in a print preview, select the Preview Report button on the report toolbar. It does, however, give you a chance to: View the actual data of the report. Manipulate the data using the "drill-down" functionality. Set the report's column sizes. You can also use the Page Up and Page Down keys on your keyboard to look through the report on-screen. Drilling Down to Show Report Details

If the information is not combined on some reports, you can "drill-down" to look at the detailed record. As you move the mouse cursor over a record on the report, the cursor changes to a "drill-down" cursor. Double-click the record to look at the data source. For example, if you double-click on an encounter-based item on the report, the encounter record opens. If you make any changes to the record, select Refresh on the report toolbar to update the report with the modified information. Previewing a Report

Previewing a report enables you to see how the report will look once printed. The preview screen has different tools to help you review the information on the report. The Navigation bar helps you navigate through the report pages. The numbers indicate the page you are currently viewing and the total number of report pages. Select the arrows to move to the first, previous, next, and last pages. You can also use shortcut keys on the keyboard to move from page to page. You can press the SHIFT key to initiate a cursor that changes to . Then press the left arrow to move to the previous page or press the right arrow to move to the next page. Select the Magnifying Glass to zoom in and select it again to zoom out. After you select the Magnifying Glass, you can hover the mouse arrow on the page and left-click to zoom in closer or right-click to zoom out farther. In addition, you can select the arrow next to the Magnifying Glass and choose one of the pre-set selections. You can press the ALT key
