Search for Appointments Based on Location Time Zone

In the Appointment Search Ahead window, when you search for an appointment time slot, the system searches and lists the current and future available time slots for the selected location.

Note: The search results are based on the time zone of the location that you select for the search.

Search for Appointments Using Appointment Search Ahead

While scheduling an appointment you can search for the available time slots for an event, a resource, and a location from the Appointment Search Ahead window and book an appointment. To open the Appointment Search Ahead window, do one of the following: Select Tasks > Appt Search. In the Appointment Book window, select the Appointment Search icon. The Appointment Search Ahead window opens. In the Event field, select an event or an event chain for the search. This is a mandatory field. In the Service Location field, select one or more locations for the search, or select the All option to include all locations. This is a mandatory field. In the Resources/Classes field, select one or more resources for the search, or select a single class. This is a mandatory field. Note: You cannot select both a resource and a class. Enter the other fields in the Search Criteria section as needed. Select Find.All the available time slots that match the search criteria entered appear in the Available Times

Appointment Search Ahead Search Criteria

You can select multiple parameters in the Search Criteria section in the Appointment Search Ahead window to find available timeslots for new appointments. For example, select an event, a service location, a resource, and an appointment date range. The following table describes the fields that are available in the Search Criteria section of the Appointment Search Ahead window: Field Description Event You must select an event or an event chain for the search. This is a mandatory field. When you select an event chain, the specified search criteria apply only to the first event in the event chain. You can only specify the date and time only for the first event in the event chain. Note: Event chains are listed before the events, when you select the Display event chains before events option in the Appt Search/Waitlist tab on the Appointment Scheduling Preferences window. Appointment Search Ahead

In NextGen® Enterprise PM while scheduling an appointment, you can use the Appointment Search Ahead feature to find the available timeslots for a specific event, location, and resource. For example, a patient wants to book an appointment for a physical exam at the main office location with Dr. Smith. The patient wants the appointment within the next three weeks and preferably on a Tuesday or Thursday morning. You can enter these criteria on the Appointment Search Ahead window to find the available time slots that meet the patient's request. When searching for available timeslots, you can use any of the following combinations in your search: One event, one service location, one resource One event, one service location, multiple resources One event, one service location, one class One event, multiple service locations, one resource One event, multiple service locations, multiple resources One event, multiple service locations, one class Note: You cannot select both a class and a resource

Schedule Appointments from Available Timeslots

You can schedule an appointment for a patient from the available time slots on the Enterprise Appointment Search Ahead window. On the Enterprise Appointment Search Ahead window, in the Available Timeslots section, right-click or double-click the desired time slot. If you have multiple resources and service locations from various practices for the selected event, you can select on the filter on the Practice column in the Available Timeslots section. The available time slots for the resources and service location of the selected practice lists. The Book Appointment menu appears. Select Book Appointment. The event, resources, service location, date, and time fields are filled. The Add Appointment window opens. Select the open menu icon, and select Lookup. If the patient is selected on the Enterprise Appointment Search Ahead window, the patient information is added on the Add Appointment window. The People Lookup window opens.
