Appointment Search Ahead Search Criteria

You can select multiple parameters in the Search Criteria section in the Appointment Search Ahead window to find available timeslots for new appointments. For example, select an event, a service location, a resource, and an appointment date range.

The following table describes the fields that are available in the Search Criteria section of the Appointment Search Ahead window:

EventYou must select an event or an event chain for the search. This is a mandatory field.

When you select an event chain, the specified search criteria apply only to the first event in the event chain.

You can only specify the date and time only for the first event in the event chain.

Service LocationYou must select one or more locations for the search or select the All option to include all locations. This is a mandatory field.

This field defaults to the Service Location selected in Session Settings, if applicable.

When you select multiple locations, the search finds the timeslots available in any of the selected locations.

Resources/ClassesYou can select one or more resources for the search or select a single class. This is a mandatory field.

When you select multiple resources, the search finds the timeslots where all of the selected resources are available for the appointment.

When you select a class, the search finds the timeslots where any resource in the selected class is available for the appointment.

DurationThis field defaults to the duration defined for the selected event but can be changed if needed.
Start DateEnter the beginning date for the range to be used in the search.
End DateEnter the ending date for the range to be used in the search.
Find next [n] ApptsYou can use the up and down arrow keys to select the number of available time slots to display from the search.
Start TimeEnter the beginning time to be used in the search.
End TimeEnter the ending time for the range to be used in the search.
Day of WeekYou can either select the days of the week to be used in the search or select the No Preference option to search any day of the week.
PatientYou can use the open menu button to open the People Lookup window and select the patient for the appointment.
Zip CodeWhen you select a patient, this field defaults to the zip code from the Add Patient Information or Update Patient Information window but can be changed if needed.
Search within [n] miles of zipYou must select this option and enter the number of miles to search the nearest location for the selected zip code.

This indicates the number of miles the patient is willing to travel from the selected zip code.

The Service Location field displays the locations within the specified number of miles from the zip code.

User employer zip codeYou can select this option to use the patient's employer zip code from the Add Patient Information or Update Patient Information window.

This option is used with the Search within [n] miles of zip option.

Wait List

When you are unable to find an appointment time slot for a specific event, service location, and resource. You can select the Wait List button to add the patient to a waitlist for the specified search criteria.
