Import a Bad Address File
Before you begin
Make sure that you have downloaded the bad address file from the
NextGen® EDI
website in XML format.
You can import a bad address file from your computer to
NextGen® Enterprise PM
.
Open the
NextGen® Enterprise PM
application.
Select
File
>
Processes
>
Bad Address Import
.
The
USPS Bad Address Import
window opens.
Click
Open Record
next to the
Address Input File
field
Browse to locate and select the bad address file downloaded from the
NextGen® EDI
website on your computer.
To importing the file, click
OK
.
The file is imported and the bad address report appears.
To save a copy of the report for future reference, do one of the following from the report toolbar:
To print the report, click
Print Report
.
To export the report to the Excel spreadsheet and save it to a network directory, click
Export to Excel
.
To save a snapshot of the report, click
Save as Snapshot
.

Import a Fast Forward Address Update File
Access NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the File menu, select Processes, and then Change of Address Update. The Electronic Address Change window opens. In the Address Input File field, click the Open Record button. The Open window opens. Browse to locate and select the Fast Forward address update file previously downloaded from the NextGen EDI website, and then click Open. The selected file displays in the Address Input File field. Do one of the following: To import the file and automatically update the address in demographic records for accounts and patients included in the file, select the Update Address Records check box. To import the file without updating the address in demographic records for accounts and patients included in the file, do not select the Update Address Records check box. Note: The default setting for this check box is determined by the Update Address Records setting in Practice Preferences > NextGenEDI Uploading. To start the import, click OK. The File menu enables you to set up the printer, print forms such as statements and invoices, and print a picture of the NextGen® Enterprise PM window as it currently displays on your monitor. You can manually update and open the Image Explorer tool to import your practice logo and templates. The File menu also enables you to log off or exit NextGen® Enterprise PM. File Menu Items Function Printer Settings Opens the Print window where you can select a default printer name, print the range and number of copies. Properties selects layout and paper quality settings. NextGen EDI Uploading Practice Preferences
If you are enrolled in and utilizing the statements or letter services offered by NextGen Electronic Data Interchange NextGen EDI , you can automatically upload statement and letter export files to the NextGen EDI website in real-time when the files are generated in NextGen® Enterprise PM. You can also use the NextGen Background Business Processor (BBP) to automatically download files from NextGen EDI. To automatically upload and download files, your NextGen EDI login credentials must be entered on the NextGen EDI Uploading tab. To access this window, select Admin > Preferences > NextGen EDI Services. Login Information Field Description Account ID Enter the Account ID obtained from NextGen EDI. Username Enter the Username obtained from NextGen EDI. Practice ID Enter the Practice ID obtained from NextGen EDI. Password Enter the Password obtained from NextGen EDI. Test Login Select this button to validate and test the Login Information entered above. Other Option Field Description Update

Bad Debt Process Job
You can create the job to process, print, and export the Bad Debt Report by configuring the fields as described in the following table. Field Description Collection Agencies Indicates one or more collection agencies from the multi-check box selection window. Effective Date Indicate the time frame within which you want to process bad debt. Bad Debt Report: Printer Name If you indicated that you want the Bad Debt Report sent to the printer, identify the printer you want to use. You can also apply the following settings to the printer: Orientation Tray Size Number of copies Bad Debt Report: Export Format If you indicated that you want the Bad Debt Report exported, identify the file format you want the job to use.
