File Menu

The File menu enables you to set up the printer, print forms such as statements and invoices, and print a picture of the NextGen® Enterprise PM window as it currently displays on your monitor. You can manually update and open the Image Explorer tool to import your practice logo and templates. The File menu also enables you to log off or exit NextGen® Enterprise PM.

Printer SettingsOpens the Print window where you can select a default printer name, print the range and number of copies. Properties selects layout and paper quality settings.

Print FormsYou can view and print blank fee tickets, budget statements, claims, invoices, letters, patient datasheets, batch statements, and blank forms.

Print ScreenPrints a picture of the current screen on your computer monitor. The picture prints to the default printer defined in Practice Preferences > Printing, or General User Preferences > Printing.
Processes
  • Advisor Update: Updates the totals on the Advisor window in NextGen® Enterprise PM, if the scheduled nightly update process does not automatically run.
  • Bad Address Import: Imports XML bad address files from United States Postal Service (USPS).
  • Bad Debt: Processes encounters on a pre-list for collections to Bad Debt status in NextGen® Enterprise PM.
  • Change of Address Update: Imports address update report files from NextGen® EDI and automatically updates guarantor and patient addresses in NextGen® Enterprise PM.
  • Claim Acknowledgment Import: Imports electronic 997 Functional Acknowledgement files from payers and clearing houses.
  • Claim Status Import: Imports electronic 277 Claim Status Response files from payers and clearing houses.
  • Download NextGenEDI Files: Downloads files from NextGen® EDI.
  • ERA Posting: Imports 835 Electronic Remittance Advice files from payers.
  • Practice Closing: Enables you to manually close a financial period and record a Process Date on charges and transactions that have not yet been closed. This option is available only if the Auto-closing check box is not enabled in practice preferences.

  • Override Process Date: Sets a minimum process date that can be used when overriding the current date on charges and transactions.
  • Pending Charges: Processes pending charges from NextGen® Enterprise EHR in batch mode in NextGen® Enterprise PM.
  • Task Update: Enables you to fully-create and full-complete worklog tasks in NextGen® Enterprise PM, if the scheduled nightly update process does not automatically run.
  • Reverse Auto Adjustment: Reverses auto-adjustments previously applied to charges based on recent updates made to the Contracts library in File Maintenance.
  • Pending Rentals: Updates the status on rental encounters.

  • Person Merge: Merges duplicate person and patient records into a single record.

  • Recall Message Update: To generate tasks within the recall plan and move the recall messaging information from NextGen® EDI tables to practice management tables.
  • Scheduling Update: Updates available time slots in the Appointment Book in NextGen® Enterprise PM, if the scheduled nightly update process does not automatically run.
  • Sliding Fee Batch Adjustment: Processes adjustments for encounters that qualify for sliding fee.
  • Unapplied Encounter Credits: Processes encounter-level unapplied credits in batch mode.

Tools
  • Image Explorer: Imports practice-related images, such as fee tickets and logos.
  • Browser: Opens NextGen Healthcare website, the NextGen Healthcare Success Community, the NextGen® Clearinghouse or the Waystar® Clearinghouse.
LoginEnables you to log on to NextGen® Enterprise PM. The PM login window opens prompting you to enter your username and password, and to select an enterprise and practice.
LogoutEnables you to log off from NextGen® Enterprise PM without closing the application. A prompt confirms if you want to log out of NextGen® Enterprise PM and close all open windows.
ExitEnables you to log off from NextGen® Enterprise PM and close the application.
