Open Previous Patient Charts

Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Chart, and then in Patient Lookup, enter your search criteria, and then select Find. Matching people and patient records appear in the search results. In Matching Records, select a patient record , and then select Open. The Patient Information tab opens in the Patient Chart window. On Patient Information Bar, select the open menu icon next to the patient name, select Access Previous Patient, and then select the necessary patient. The selected patient chart opens. Optional: To set the patient account as active, on Patient Information Bar, select the open menu icon next to the patient name, and then select Set Active Patient. Add Primary Care Provider for Patients

Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Lookup, and then in People Lookup, enter your search criteria, and then select Find.Matching people and patient records appear in the search results. In Matching Records, double-click a patient record . In Update Patient Information, select the Provider tab, select the open menu icon, and then select New. In the Add Patient Provider window, select items from the Preference Name and Providers lists. You can select an effective date, expiration date, and expiration reason. Select the Primary Preference Name checkbox, and then select OK.The primary care provider details are updated. Create Cases in an Encounter

Before you begin In Practice Preferences, you must turn on Enable Case Management on the Case Management tab in File Maintenance. You can view and group the common patient encounter data in a case. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Chart, and then in Patient Lookup, enter your search criteria, and then select Find. Matching people and patient records appear in the search results. In Matching Records, select a patient record , and then select Open. The Patient Information tab opens in the Patient Chart window. Select the Encounters tab, select the Case Management tab, and then select an encounter. The cases associated with the selected encounter appear. Select the open menu icon next to Case Management, and then select New. In the Case Management window, enter the necessary information, and then select OK. Reverse Transactions on Encounters

Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Chart, and then in Patient Lookup, enter your search criteria, and then select Find. Matching people and patient records appear in the search results. In Matching Records, select a patient record , and then select Open. The Patient Information tab opens in the Patient Chart window. Select the Encounters tab, select the Transactions tab, and then select an encounter. The charges and transaction (payments, adjustments, and refunds) information for an encounter appears. To reverse the transactions, select the open menu icon next to Charges and Transactions, and then select Reverse Transactions. Optional: To view transaction details, NextGen® Document Management explanation of benefits and fee tickets, and credit card information, in the Transactions tab, select the necessary options. Add and Send Encounter Notes

Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Chart, and then in Patient Lookup, enter your search criteria, and then select Find. Matching people and patient records appear in the search results. In Matching Records, select a patient record , and then select Open. The Patient Information tab opens in the Patient Chart window. Select the Encounters tab, select the Notes tab, and then select an encounter. All notes associated with the selected encounter appear. Select the open menu icon next to Encounter Notes, select New, and then in Patient Notes, enter the necessary information, and then select OK. Note: You can select the Seal Note checkbox to lock the note information. The pushpin icon appears next to the encounter representing that the note is added. To send an encounter note, in Encounter Notes, right-click a note, select Attach to Mail, enter the recipient and other necessary information, and then select Send Message. Note: You can print, fax, and delete the note info

Add the Patient Co-Managing Provider

When a patient is co-managed by two physicians within the enterprise, you can add the name of the co-managing physician in the patient chart. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Chart, and then in Patient Lookup, enter your search criteria, and then select Find. Matching people and patient records appear in the search results. In Matching Records, select a patient record , and then select Open. The Patient Information tab opens in the Patient Chart window. Select the Chart Details tab, and then select the open folder icon. In Chart Details, select the Co-Managed Patient checkbox, select a provider from the Co-Managed Physician list, and then select OK. The co-managing provider details are updated in the patient chart.
