Viewing General Information in Encounters Viewing General Information in Encounters The General tab under Encounters in the patient's chart displays general, provider, diagnosis, and guarantor information for the selected encounter. You can use the Encounters tab to do the following: Open an encounter to view the Encounter Maintenance window. Right-click an encounter to open the shortcut menu. Add or to modify an encounter. Add or modify encounter-level diagnosis codes for an encounter in the ICD-CM section. You can view the ICD-9 to ICD-10 mapping for the ICD-10 codes that have been attached to the patient for the encounter. Add or modify guarantor information for an encounter in the Guarantor section. View, Add, and Modify Encounters

When you select a diagnosis in Charge Entry multiplies into more than one code for a payer based on alternate diagnosis mappings in the diagnosis code library. You can view the diagnosis code mapping on the General tab under Encounters in the patient chart. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Chart, and then in Patient Lookup, enter your search criteria, and then select Find. Matching people and patient records appear in the search results. In Matching Records, select a patient record , and then select Open. The Patient Information tab opens in the Patient Chart window. Select the Encounters tab. You can select the Encounter Date and Encounter Number checkboxes to view the corresponding encounters. The list of encounters, encounter and provider information, guarantor, claim status, and patient group details appear. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Posting . The Batch Posting window opens. Double-click the batch header record. The Payment Entry window opens. In Enc/Clm#, enter the encounter number, and then select Enter. The account guarantor, patient, medical record number, and the billed account details appear in the Payment Entry window. Set Up Encounters for Enhanced UB Claims (After Billing)

Access the Encounter Maintenance window for the patient and encounter the UB claim was created for. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, select the Chart button on the main toolbar. The Patient Lookup window opens. Enter Search Criteria to locate the desired patient and then select Find. From the Matching Records section, double-click to open the desired patient. The Patient Chart window opens. Select the Encounters tab. Right-click the encounter, and then select Open. The Service Location field is no longer accessible once an encounter has been billed. Select the UB tab. The fields on this window automatically default the applicable information once the encounter has been billed. Do not change any of the information on this window. Select the Occurrence Codes tab. The fields on this window automatically default the occurrence code information once the encounter has been billed. These occurrence codes are attached to the revenue codes, which are attached to the service items that were billed. Do

Search for Diagnoses Codes

Open NextGen® Mobile. Open a patient chart. Select the Diagnostic icon. To add a diagnosis to the encounter, select Add Diagnosis. The Add Diagnosis view opens. Add diagnosis for a patient encounter Enter your search criteria in the Search field. You can enter incomplete phrases. The list of codes matching your query appears. Some codes are multi-tiered, indicated by arrow icon. To view the encounter type or any other category associated with the code, select Arrow icon. A list of the available category types appears. Select the desired category type. The associated codes appear. To add a diagnosis code from the search results list, select the desired diagnosis code or select a diagnosis, and then select Add to add the code to the patient encounter.
