View and Resubmit Cost Estimations

You can create a cost estimation using the values of an existing cost estimate. You can open a cost estimate from the history or from the Clinical History/Notes tab in the patient's chart. You can also search for a specific cost estimate using the cost estimate ID.
You can open a cost estimate and modify your selections for the following on the Estimate Patient Cost window.
  • Payer and self-pay selections
  • Rendering provider, location, and service type
  • Service line items
  • Estimation notes
  • Diagnosis codes
  1. Open the Estimate Patient Cost window.
  2. To open a cost estimate, do one of the following:
    • In History, select to select a cost estimate.
    • In Cost Estimate ID, type a part of the cost estimate ID. The estimates that match the entered value appear. Select the desired cost estimate.

    • On the Clinical History/Notes tab in the chart, open Estimation Results. Right-click the desired cost estimate in the Details area, and select View.
  3. Make the desired changes. You can do the following:
    • To make changes for a specific service, select the check box for the desired service, and edit values.
    • Modify the estimation notes as applicable.
    • To delete a service line item, select the desired service line item, and select Delete.
    • Add or remove diagnosis codes.
  4. Select Submit.
    A message appears to confirm if you want to revert to the cost estimation result.
  5. Do one of the following:
    • To cancel the changes and retain the old values, select Yes.
    • To submit the modified values, select No.
    If you choose to save and submit the values, the following happen.
    • The modified estimation results are displayed in the Estimated Cost section.
    • A cost estimation record is created with a new cost estimation ID.
    • The new estimation record is added to the estimates in the History section.
