Search for Accounts
- To search for an account, enter the search criteria data, and then select Find.
Person and employer accounts that match the search criteria appear in the Account List section of the Account Lookup window.

A person account is automatically created when the person is selected as the guarantor on a patient’s encounter for the first time, which results in statements generated for the person’s account that include encounters with outstanding self-pay balances. NextGen® Enterprise PM assigns each account a unique account number on the person's Account Profile window. The account number is also printed on statements sent to the guarantor. The Account Profile window for a person account includes the following tabs: Properties Encounter Detail Account Summary Credit Card on File Budget Notes Creating Person Accounts You can create a person account using the People Lookup and the Patient Lookup windows. Set Active Status for Accounts You can use the Account Profile window for a given patient to set an active account. You can select an active account from the toolbar of the current account. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the Tasks menu, select Lookup > Accounts. The Account Lookup window opens. To search for an account, enter the search criteria data, and then select Find You can use different combinations of the search criteria to search for a person's account. Accounts that match the search criteria, appear in the Account List section. Double-click a person account. The Account Profile window opens. Select open menu , and then select Access Active Account. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM On the NextGen® Enterprise PM toolbar, select Account. The Account Lookup window opens. Select Employer/Last Name, and then enter the employer name. Clear the People Accounts and Existing Accounts Only check boxes. Select Find. The employer appears in the Account List section of the Account Lookup window. Double-click to select the employer. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the Tasks menu, select Lookup > Employers. The Employer Lookup window opens. In the Search Criteria section, enter the employer’s information and then select Find. Employer records that match the search criteria appear in the Matching Records section. Right-click the employer, and then select Open. The Employer Maintenance window opens. Verify that the demographics, billing address, and contact information are completed. Select Account. The employer account is created and the Account Profile window opens. An account set as the active account is available for quick access when you work with other account profiles. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the Tasks menu, select Lookup > Accounts. The Account Lookup window opens. To search for a person account, enter the search criteria data, and then select Find. You can use different combinations of the search criteria to search for a person's account. Accounts that match the search criteria, appear in the Account List section. Double-click a person account. The Account Profile window opens. Select open menu , and then select Set Active Account. Set Active Account option The current account is set as the active account. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select Lookup. The People Lookup window opens. In the Search Criteria section, enter the person's information and then selectFind. Person records that match the search criteria appear in the Matching Records section. Select the person, and then selectOpen. The Modify Person Information window opens. Note: When you select the patient, the Update Patient Information window opens. Verify that the demographics, billing address, and contact information are complete. SelectAccount.
