Run Autoflow from an Encounter

Before you begin

Ensure that the Estimate Patient Cost item is included in the autoflow.

You can run the autoflow for an encounter during check-in and/or check-out process for a person or patient.

  1. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM and do one of the following:
    • Select Encounter on the toolbar.
    • Select Tasks > Lookup > Encounters.
    The Encounter Lookup window opens.
  2. Use the search criteria and select Find.
    The encounters that match the search criteria display under Encounter List.
  3. From the Encounter List, right-click on an encounter and do one of the following:
    • Select Checkin from the menu to start the check-in.
    • Select Checkout from the menu to start the check-out.
    The first window configured in the autoflow opens.
  4. Select AutoFlow to open the next window in the sequence. Continue with the autoflow until the Estimate Patient Cost window opens.
    The Estimate Patient Cost window opens if it is configured in the sequence. The Estimate Patient Cost window displays the encounter details such as the encounter number and date, provider, location, and service type.
  5. Perform the cost estimation.
  6. Select AutoFlow to open the next window.
    The cost estimation data is saved and the next window opens.
  7. If cost estimation is configured as the last in the autoflow, close the Estimate Patient Cost window.
